Hi Carol -

I just finished chemo, but I'll be going back every two weeks for 8 weeks for a Procrit shot. I'll also be getting labs every 4 weeks. Not scheduled to actually see my onc until July 13th.

When I went to my onc yesterday, 2 weeks after my final treatment, he said to come back in August. While I am thrilled that I don't have to go back every week now, after I left the office I got to thinking. Shouldn't I have blood tests or echocardiograms or something before 3 months? After all, the 3 drugs I got, 5FU, epirubicin, and Cytoxin are very toxic to the heart and other organs. I was just wondering for those of you who have finished chemo, what follow up tests were you given and how soon after completing the chemo? I hope my onc knows what he's doing. Thanks ladies!Carol

Hi Carol,

While I am already done with my Chemo, I am still getting Herceptin Infusions, and I have bloodowrk once a month and see the Onc as well once a month.

I do know that when I am done with the Herceptin, I will still be on this same schedule for at least 6-8 months, and then be seen every three months for how long I don't know and then it will change to 6 months and so on and so.

I also have ECHO Cardiogram every 3 months, because of the Herceptin. I also know I will also be getting another CT scan as well.
