Guest guest
Oh sweetie the saga just goes on. I feel so bad for you. I cannot believe they would not be more aggressive in helping you especially with the results of that MRI. Sometimes I think doctors are too busy for their patients' own good. I think they just get bogged down with the patient load and can't keep up with things. That sure does not help you. That is aggravating. I would have to look up those meds. I have heard of them. Not sure what they are. Oh how I hope you get some relief somewhere. hugs, Debra V debra bunt wrote: Well, I got up got dressed and got out of the house today and made my appointment. Can't really say that things went well. He pushed on my " trigger " points in my lower back that sent pain up and down my spine, I just thought I would die. He did the same for the ones in my neck...which I have had a flare today and that just almost made me pass out! Very painful!! I really didn't leave with any good news today infact I left with more bad news. He added to my list of medications by 3 different pills. 2 that I slowly increase the dosage. I am so freaken tired of taking pills. He added Topamax, Mazalt-mlt 10 and another one that I can't remember. He also wants me to go 3 times a week for physical theraphy with them using the TENS unit on my back and next. On the order it doesn't state how long I am to do this, but I am going to give it a try. My pain management doctor had ordered a couple of weeks ago an MRI of my neck. I have never received a letter or phone call regarding the results and as you know I have not been able to get anyone to return my calls. Since my MRI was done at the hospital my Neurologist is associated with he was able to pull it up and guess what????? I not only have a herniated disc in my lower back I also have not 1 but 2 bulging disc in my neck. And has my pain management doctor called me? HECK NO!! I asked my Neuro doctor regarding surgery for my back he stated that he was leaving that up to the pain doctor...I thought great! I am just so tired of the pain from everything that I have. I pray that the therapy will help along with the new medication. Can anyone tell me what the Topamax is as well as the Maxalt-MLT? Thanks for listening to me and thanks to all that responded to my first post this morning. I received kind words along with prayers. May God Bless each of you!!! Guest guest
I'm so sorry you are getting such a run-around. I tried Topomax for awhile. It was to help with my mood, but that might be an off label use. I think it's anti-seizure type which means it could help your pain. You might find the PT helpful. I found the electric stim helped me. I plan to get a TENS unit in January after the new med flex account is in effect. I'm praying for you Debra. Take care. Guest guest
Hi Debra, I'm sorry I so behind in my e-mail. I have been reading about your plight and responded to some but lost track until now. I'm sorry your'e having such trouble with pain and doctors. I don't understand why the neuro wouldn't discuss the possibility of surgery for you neck with you and said to talk to your pain management doctor about it. Isn't that usually a neuro-surgeon's or neuro's speciality? I had cervical disc 1 and 2 fused by going through from the front and had really good luck with it. My neuro-surgeon made the decision and did the surgery. I hope the PT works. Anyway I'm sorry you're taking so many pills but maybe these will help some. Are those meds for migrains maybe? Good luck with them. Marti debra bunt wrote: Well, I got up got dressed and got out of the house today and made my appointment. Can't really say that things went well.
