Guest guest
I guess I will write this here. I don't know who else to talk to. I can't afford another doctor. No health insurance and not enough money. Also have to work and take care of my kids. You all know the bout I had with food poisoning this last week or whatever it was. Well, I am getting more concerned. I have not had a bowel movement since I was in the E.R. I came home, took it easy on my system with clear liquids. Did what I should. Started taking Citracel. Started eating more fiber. Well now what? I cramp in the upper abdominal area like I really need to go..... but it seems nothing will move to the lower bowel to evacuate. I really hope this is something that will resolve on its own. I am a little worried but I am in a pickle. I can't lose more work, I don't have the money to follow up on this. I guess I will just wait and see. I am also tired of being sick. Sick with fibro everyday and now something else. I wonder if fibro could be the cause of this? For any of you with medical knowledge, could this be spasms keeping me from going????? They did a CT scan.. would that now show if there was a blockage???? I never had this problem before. Thanks for listening to this disgusting letter. love and hugs, Debra V. --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo! Search. Guest guest
Debra, I can't think of the name of the suppositories...they are cheap and are blue and work like a miracle. I have some, but they are in storage in the garage and I could use them right now myself. Describe what I just told you to a pharmacist and I'm sure that you can be led in the right direction. Give it a try. I hope that you will be feeling better soon. Guest guest
I don't really know what to say Debra. You should be concerned. If the problem doesn't go away, you know you'll be forced to get it checked out. I will pray things get moving for you today. And I wasn't grossed out. IBS issues are something a lot of us deal with, so if we can't discuss with each other, then who? Feel better. Guest guest
It might just be that you haven't eaten enough to make you regular yet. If that makes sense. You could swallow a tbsp of mineral oil. Also I would do an enema and see if that gets you moving. I hope you feel better hun. Guest guest
-Hi Debra, I am not a Doctor either but I agree...You must find out.....This happens to me also but I have been Diagnosed with IBS so when this happens to me I know what is going on and also remember if you are on any medications some can also bind you! And I here ya...I'm sick and Tired myself! ~Hugs, Mo -- In Fibromyalgia_Support_Group , Caroline Witte wrote: > > Debra, I have NO medical training, but I think this is important!! I know you don't want to spend more money on doctors, and I don't blame you, but I think you could have some type of blockage going on. Do you have IBS? Can you call your doctor and ask a few questions over the phone? Maybe he could prescribe something and phone it in, without charging you for a visit. Then, if the prescription whatever didn't work, you would KNOW you had to 'bite the bullet' and go to a doctor. It really sucks, but if it is serious you need to know. Your children need you, remember that. You can't support them if something drastic should happen to you. Please, do something. > > Peace and Love > Caroline > > > > I guess I will write this here. Guest guest
I'm no doctor but I'm not new to having things not move or so it seems. I can sometimes be irregular and I try several things to keep things moving. If I were in your shoes, I'd take a probiotic to help get the gut back to normal and help regulate things, and maybe a ginger pill a few times a day. It's a natural way to help get the digestive system working right, or so it seems. For me it seems to help me stay a bit more regular but it's not a miracle drug, it just helps me out a bit. I take probiotics every day. I also eat Fiber One chewy bars if things are slow moving, and if I'm feeling really bloated I'll take a probiotic before I go to bed at night. Also I've heard great things about Miralax. I have some in the medicine chest but hasn't taken it yet. I hear it really helps a person get regular. I once had mild food poisoning and once I got better, it was several days before we had a BM again. Sometimes I think the body is just working to get things back to normal. I think something like food poisoning or a virus wreaks havoc on the intestines and it takes time to heal. I ate some of that contaminated peanut butter that was recalled a year ago, I ate it before the recall was even made. I didn't know why I couldn't get better and why I felt so bad! I used to eat Pan peanut butter every day! I felt so awful that I just couldn't eat at all, and lived off Ensure Plus shakes for a week and a half. But every now and then I'd start to feel like I could eat, so I'd have half a PB & J, then I'd relapse! Finally I switched peanut butters, to natural so I could cut sugar in my diet a bit. Voila, I suddenly got better and got my appetite back. The salmonella recall didn't come out til later but they said when it started and it was right when I ate the peanut butter. But the point of that is that once I ate the good peanut butter, it still took a whole week for my body and stomach to work right and feel good again. Two weeks total before I felt 100%. I hope you are doing better. Hugs and healing thoughts! debra van ness wrote: > I guess I will write this here. I don't know who else to talk to. I can't afford another doctor. Guest guest
Hi Debra, Yes Miralax should do the trick but as a geriatric nurse for about 25 years now there is always the old remedy called prunes or prune juice(warm is better) good Luck! Know how u feel the Oxycontin kills b stomach and causes severe constipation, Raisin Bran every morning is a must, Jodi I'm no doctor but I'm not new to having things not move or so it seems. Guest guest
Prunes and prune juice never seemed to do the trick for me. I still swear by those fiber one bars, plus they just taste so yummy! jodi ellen wrote: > Hi Debra, > Yes Miralax should do the trick but as a geriatric nurse for about 25 years now there is always the old remedy called prunes or prune juice(warm is better) good Luck!
