Re: OT, Need to vent!!~~Speeding~~

Please don't take this the wrong way, I don't know if you are this way or not,

but 'fast drivers' usually end up getting incredibly angry with those of us

going the speed limit. I don't know how many times I have been 'shot the

finger', honked at, or worse by people who consider that I'm in their way and

are trying to insist that I speed it up. I know I am doing the posted speed

limit, not even a half-mile an hour under, and they are STILL livid!!! I always

keep to the 'slow lane', but they just don't care!! I am and always have been a

very cautious driver. I've only ever had one ticket, which I got out of, for

missing a stop sign. Considering that I'm 62, that's not a bad record. I DO

maintain the speed of flow on the freeway, but even there you find the angry

drivers cutting in and out of lanes. What always makes me laugh is that I so

often see them stopped at the stoplight despite all their haste. They go through

all those manuevers to try and save a few seconds, and in the end, they don't

get much further much faster than the rest of us. It still drives me nuts to

watch them weaving in and out of the lanes. I have also seen those people cause

more than a few accidents. Sorry about this vent, but it has always been at the

top of my 'pet peeve' list. BTW, I don't need to hear that being over-cautious

causes more accidents. I have heard that argument from people all my life. I am

NOT overly cautious. I just obey the laws.
