Guest guest
Hi there, My daughter sees Dr. Fusunyan at Mass General for Kids (and I love that it's a world-renowned hospital where docs support the diet!). When she was hospitalized, we asked every GI doc who came in her room if they were familiar with the book BTVC. The " worst " response we got was " if you want to try it, that would be fine with me " . Dr. Fusunyan's was the most positive--he has a RD he works with who helps families implement the diet--so we went with him. Dr. Katz at MGH is also supportive of the diet. From what I hear, the GI docs at Children's Hospital in Boston are not supportive of the SC diet, so I'm glad that we ended up at the right hopsital for us. Hang in there, Ellen 11 y/o dd scd sicne 5/06 for Crohn's med-free and doing great
Guest guest
on http://www.scdiet.net/ is location of Dr.s http://www.scdiet.org/8resources/doctors.html According to the SCD New England Yahoo Group "MGH for Kids in Waltham and Boston: Dr. Fusunyan, Dr. Katz and Dr. Buie are all pro-SCD. Dr. Biller is ANTI-SCD and Dr. Israel is wishy-washy ("if you want to do it, I won't stop you"). No docs at Children's were recommended (not that there aren't any who are pro-SCD there, just maybe no one on this list sees them). There is also a nutritionist at MGH who works w. families implementing the SC diet. She is in Waltham." Guest guest
>on http://www.scdiet.net/ is location of Dr.s >http://www.scdiet.org/8resources/doctors.html Thank you for posting this. I was delighted to see Dr. Bolte on the list. I am in TN and he is in NY but I read about him. Discover magazine did an article about him because supposedly he is ‘the real Dr. House’. I had contacted him for an appointment and he asked me to send him a letter with my medical history. That was right before Christmas and I have not heard back from him, but seeing that he is on the list makes me happy in case I go see him. Has anybody worked with Dr. bolte? a
Guest guest
Hi,I want to thank everyone for your caring and generous postings. I get a lot from reading your contributions.Finding an appropriate Allopathic-what's considered traditional western medicine--Dr. is not easy. We live 100 miles North of NYC. Anyone know about these docs, on the SCD Doctor list, with asterisks? I could not find explanation for asterisks! thanks.**Saul G.
