Jodi, Then there's something wrong there - it's supposed to be so stable that it lasts for a very long time. Months. I read up to a year. So if you are smelling something, maybe somehow milk solids still got mixed in? I know some people repeat the process twice to make sure they have taken everything out. I had that experience, too, that it went off. But, in my case, it was from my early trials and I think too much milk solids from the bottom got mixed in and that was what went off.
