Guest guest
Sophia that sounds exactly like what I had happen. Mine went from hives to what looked like a sunburn, then it turned ash white, a day later it was bright red and peeling like crazy. Just like a sunburn from the inside out. The exception with mine is I had it all over my entire body from head to toe...and in places I dare not mention on a family oriented group. I hope yours heals much faster than mine did. It sounds like the jump in pred they gave you has helped halt the reaction fast and from what I read up on these type of reactions the faster you can halt it the quicker it heals. Mine burned off the acne too but unfortunately it does come back.... Good luck with your dance club Membership Meeting! It does sound rather stressful. Amy G. allergic reaction - 1 week later Hi everyone, It's been a busy week this week, trying to prepare with my Execs an upcoming General Membership Meeting for our Dance Club here in town. So stressful b/c this is where the membership gets to " grill " you. I just wanted to let everyone know that since my panicked post last week about getting an allergic reaction from the acne medication that was prescribed to me, things are getting better (slowly. very, very slowly.) I had to kick up the pred to 50 mg, and then taper it about 5 mg less every day. So now I am down to 30 mg. It did get rid of the itch and the burning pain and the swelling. However, my face is all leathery and still red - like I have this huge sunburn on my face. Oh well, at least it " burned off " the acne! ; ) Sophia To edit your settings for the group, go to our Yahoo Group home page: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/iga-nephropathy/ To unsubcribe via email, iga-nephropathy-unsubscribe Visit our companion website at www.igan.ca. Guest guest
Hi Amy! Yes, yes, that sounds exactly the same...wow, that must have been soooo difficult for you, if it's all over the body...just my face, and I wanted to cry, b/c it felt so uncomfortable. I'm glad yours healed and mine is on the mend! : ) It was disappointing to have to hike the pred, since it delayed my eventual weaning by 2 - 3 weeks...however, it was effective. My dr suggested also to use only clear cool water to wash my face and vaseline after when the skin started flaking off. And yes, the acne is sadly coming back. But I can live with it. Sophia P.S. Despite the stress and worry, the Membership Meeting overall went surprisingly well. We expected to be grilled, but it was mostly comments, suggestions, and even a few compliments for the Executive team! > Sophia that sounds exactly like what I had happen.
