Guest guest
Mike, You may be confirming what many of us have known, namely that fish and fish oil can do wonders for RA. My first post to this group was " Salmon, the Wonder Food. " I had experienced a true miracle due to salmon when my RA was new and most virulent. At this point I am taking four 1000 mg capsules a day of Natural Factors Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil (two capsules in the morning and two in the evening). What condition are you treating? Is it RA, and how long have you had it? Also please share with us the brand of the fish oil you are taking. Finally, do you have have any way to assess how much of the stuff you are taking? Perhaps you can convert " a good mouthful " to teaspons or tablespoons. Guest guest
I know the fish oil is good for the inflammation, but does anyone besides my self have trouble burping the taste of fish for hrs after taking it. I am greatly reminded of the cod liver oil mom forced down us daily as kids.(Not a good memory) Are there some brands that do not have that side effect? My best to you, Skip
Guest guest
I have been using Dr. Sears Liquid Omega Rx and do not have that problem. I also did not have it with Arctic Omega Cod Liver Oil, alhough you can't take as much of that as the fish oil due to Vitamin A. Both are molecularly distilled. Guest guest
Skip, I think that the answer is to take less of the fish oil at any one time and to take it with meals. Guest guest
I think it depends on the individual. I was taking Dr. Sears Liquid Omega Rx and had a terrible time with burping fish oil. I take the capsules now, they don't seem to be as bad as the liquid. I also starting taking them at night just before I go to sleep. That way I don't notice if I burp fish oil! Anyone else tried a LOT of fish oil? Any risks? " You might want to check out the book " The Omega 3 Connection " by Dr. Stoll. Lot of good info there. Incidentally, do you mind telling me where you're getting your fish oil from? Mark
Guest guest
I buy my pharmaceutical grade fish oil at a local pharmacy (they pour it into a smaller container for me). -Mike- Re: I'm feeling good: Fish Oil ? Guest guest
Hi, A tip from my doctor on Omega 3 capsules...He told me to keep them in the freezer,,,(they don't freeze solid) Then take them before eating...( i take them before breakfast)as the food on top helps stop the repeating of fish oil...Hope this helps. I have been doing this for three,weeks...It does work.... Barb
