Guest guest
Tomorrow is the day I have been waiting for during the last year. I have been obsessed by it, this surgery has been on my mind everyday since last July. Finally it is here! I am excited and a little nervous. I am trying to stay busy today, we played golf this morning (well, all I can say is I tried to play golf. I did a really bad job of it.) I have done laundry, given myself a pedicure and cleaned the house. I am packed and ready to go. We were going to the stay the night at a hotel, but I think that would make me more nervous getting there so early with nothing to do. We will leave about 5:30 (it's a 2 hour drive under normal conditions), I need to be there at 9:00 for surgery at 10:30 with Dr. Baggs. He is going to try and do it lap. It really doesn't matter to me one way or the other, except my recovery period might be a little more comfortable with lap. Thank you to everyone on this group for all the information I have received and for all the support. I feel so ready for this, I feel very knowledgeable and I feel like I won't have too many surprises (I'm sure there will be some though). I will try to email you all on Wed a short note letting you know how things go. If anyone is at an appt on Mon or Tues at Richmond please feel free to come by and see me, I would love it! Guest guest
Carol, I don't know if you'll be reading your e-mail before you leave for surgery, but wanted to tell you we are sending good thoughts your way! Be sure and designate a friend or relative to send us an e-mail (you can use my address if you want, and send it to: Grace44444 @ earthlink.net, and I will forward it to the list). That way we'll know that you came through fine and will be home soon. I speak from experience when I say that I wish I had done this before my surgery, as I ended up in the hospital for 39 days with gallbladder complications and I wish I had someone to notify the people on the lists, that I cared about and I knew were worried about me. Anyway - don't let that worry you! My doctor said he had never seen my type of complications in 25+ years of doing surgery. (Ha ha -- leave it to me to break the record). Best wishes, Laurie W. Guest guest
Carol: I just wanted to say how happy I am for you that tomorrow is " your day " . Please know that good thoughts are coming your way to wish you a speedy recovery and a wonderful welcome to " the other side " of WLS. As one who is scheduled for surgery in late August, I look forward to hearing of your continued journey and I thank you for all the help you have provided me in my baby steps along the way to get to this point in my journey. > Tomorrow is the day I have been waiting for during the last year. Guest guest
Carol, Laurie is right we would love to hear you are fine. We do all wish you the best. We will be waiting here for you when you return with all your successes. Those of us who are further out will be envious of the quick weight loss you will have at the beginning. Keep sipping water, walking and breathing deeply. I am sure you will be fine. Huggles, SUE I will be waiting to hear from Laurie or someone else. I will be praying for you.
