Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, Thanks for checking in on that. I had one conversation with the insurance agent for my company, and she is checking into it but I have not heard back. I am going to Kansas to our corporate headquarters next week so I should find out something then. I would love the web addresses for the top 50 hospitals and the Mayo beginning dialysis sites too if you have them handy. Thanks and don't work too late! Get some rest this weekend! Guest guest
Hi , Just wondering if you have heard anything about your insurance coverage/transplant and high quality centers for kidney disease.... I was surfing around today and noticed an article from Best Hospitals 2004 from USNews. There is a section for kidney disease and lists 4 hospitals in California which are considered on the top 50 best Hospitals list for kidney disease in the US. (They also include many other specialties as well). If you (or anyone on site) is interested, I be glad to post. I also happened to run across a a very brief slideshow for very beginning kidney dialysis patients from the Mayo web site (quite basic, but if anyone has never seen PD or hemo set up it may be of interest although I'm sure there is probably many other sites as well which are most comprehensive). Guest guest
Hi , Have fun next week in my birth state. (Lived in Meriam) Em also went to school in Kansas in a little town called Great Bend. Awesome school for athletics (98% of the kids or something like that are all athletes). The web site for the Best Hospitals 2004 is: http://www.usnews.com/usnews/health/hosptl/rankings/specihqneph.htm That should get you directly to the neph page. There is also a section on the methodology of the ratings, and of course if you want to check any other specialties out, it's all in the same article. To get to the Mayo page for new patients deciding about different forms of dialysis : Google.....Mayoclinic.com on the far left column go to Health Centers Click on on Diabetes Mellitus then go to explore treatments click on dialysis understanding dialysis slide show PD versus hemo (or whatever interests you). these articles are written at a very basic knowledge level, so hope not boring for you, but someone else might find some useful info here too. There's also a Table on 3 day versus 6 day per week treatment schedules for hemo I'm gonna dictate for a bit longer, then head home. Hope you have a good night,. I hope and pray Kaiser will let you go where ever you want. Hopefully your neph can help out in this arena as well. Bonnie W4JC@... wrote: Hi Bonnie, Thanks for checking in on that.
