Hello HELLO HELLO

Today I recieved an envelope with something that looked like my name on it and then i saw it was from Kaiser South San Francisco !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my heart started racing and I ripped that envelope open and oh my goodness It actually says that my application to the Bariatric Surgery Dept submitted by my primary care provider has been reviewed and that my conditon meets all the critera for condideration for Gastric Bypass Surgery at South San Francisco Medical Center and that in the next 12-16 weeks to expect to recieve several appointments .............. I think that I AM ON MY WAY !!!!!!!!! I scream with joy and anticipation and my cats and dog think I am nuts, my husband is not home yet...................... I just came back from Trader Joes and i was looking at the protien powders across from the wine....thinking one day i will drink that and not wine..........well tonight i am going to celebrate and have a glass of

wine..........................I just feel like my life and health worries have been uplifted and i already feel lighter

Congratulations!!! I reminisced about when

I also got my letter. I believe it was the best day but the scariest day of my

life. I took the time to get healthy before my surgery. I am sure many have

been in your position and can help about losing the 10% and the rest of the requirements.

I had surgery at Pacific Bariatrics and it is a bit different but I am sure you

will get plenty of advice. Good luck for a fast date. Huggles, SUE post op 30

letter of approval. I still have that letter as a treasured

momento. As I read it, I was so full of emotions: happy, excited,

scared, elated, thankful, melancholy, etc...

I showed the letter to Zach and I could barely choke out a

sentence. " Look, I've been accepted, " like I had been accepted to

some graduate program, but this was much more important to me than

any college degree.

I took a private moment to myself and held the letter to my heart. I

haven't thought of that moment for a long time. It was the start of

the most difficult yet rewarding phase of my life.

Enjoy this wonderful moment. You deserve it!

the letter is great, and i already said to myself i have to save this for the scrap book of my life that i always think about but all sits in a box on the shelf.............

LIke you shared the letter with Zach, I awaited my husbands arrival he had to work late, when i heard him out on the driveway, i told him i was pregnant he laughed, i said no here is the paperwork to confirm it..........you see i had told him this was like a pregnancy, that i was being given the chance of a rebirth in life, and the way the time tables seemed to go that it was as if it would be the process would be taking about the same amount of time that it would be to have a baby, i told him that the begining was like trying to get pregnant that the acceptance would be confirming the pregnancy, and a surgery date would be a due date.........................we had joked about this so today i gave him my confirmation of the pregnancy and we both were just cracking up............................

just one of many steps to the other side and the beyond..............

Colleen:Congratulations! Your post made me remember when I received my letter of approval. I still have that letter as a treasured momento. As I read it, I was so full of emotions: happy, excited, scared, elated, thankful, melancholy, etc...I showed the letter to Zach and I could barely choke out a sentence. "Look, I've been accepted," like I had been accepted to some graduate program, but this was much more important to me than any college degree.I took a private moment to myself and held the letter to my heart. Hi Colleen - I know just how you feel, when I saw that envelope in my mailbox with my name hand written on it and the return address SSF Bariatrics I was scared to death to open it, I wasn't even sure if I wanted it to say approved or denied, but when I saw approved I got very excited!! It didn't take that long to get my appointments, I got that letter in April and my first appointment in SSF was June 8th. They told us they have 80 new patients a month start the program. You are on your way!!

I'm still working on my 10% but its getting really close and your right it does feel like the first day of school or something.. lol that is funny.. When I got my letter I couldn't wait to tell the ladies at work... then support me but think I'm a little nuts, but that's OK.. because they know how important this is to me..
