Hi ,

Huzzah!!!! Losing that dreaded 10% is a huge accomplishment. I am

very happy for you.

How disappointing that they are scheduling so far out. At my last

post-op class, Beth mentioned that there are now over 1500 people in the

Kaiser Richmond program. Anyway . . . those 3 months will be gone

before you know it. Just use the time to get really ready for the

surgery. I strongly recommend deep breathing exercises - you want your

lungs to be in the best shape you can manage. Exercise, in general,

will also help. I also used my pre-surgery time to make sure that my

affairs were in order, so to speak. It is a subject we don't like to

talk about - but I did want to make sure things were going to be taken

care of if anything went wrong. For me, that included making sure that

my husband was up to speed on our finances (he's a sweetie, but hasn't a

clue about our investments and so on).

I also went into a sort of " nesting " phase - and I have talked to

several others who did the same. I cleaned out closets and the pantry

and so on - getting ready for the birth of the new me, I guess. It is

totally cool that your surgery is going to be on your birthday. I

wanted to do that - but I wasn't about to turn down a surgery date that

was a few weeks earlier. ;-)

I'm really proud of you for getting over that 10% hurdle. That is one

of the toughest hurdles on this path, in my opinion at least.

All the best,

Kay

Hi ,

I also have had to wait quite a while for surugery at Richmond. I really don't mind the wait, but I do worry about keeping the weight off during this time. It has been easier than I thought it would though. Congratulations on getting your date scheduled. My surgery is June 28th, lap with Dr. Baggs.

Hi Carol

I know exactly the emotions you are going through. I cried for days

on end thinking my surgery date would never get here. Everyone told

me it would, but I only half listened. I waited almost a year. Try to

keep your spirits up and look to us to carry you through. You can do

this and it will come.

Congrats on the 10%...I know its not easy...way to go

Do they have a on call list you can get on? you know if some one

starts to gain and can't have the surgery they call some one else
