Guest guest
That’s really disheartening. I would find some of the item on your daughter’s menu irritating to the bowel at times, especially zucchini, which actually has an amazing amount of fiber in it, and pureeing doesn’t negate that, only breaks it into bits. And kale does too. The eggs, to me, would be the least irritating of the foods you listed. But if she’s not having pain after she eats it’s pretty difficult to say what would be causing the bleeding. It sounds like it’s fortunate that she’s scheduled for a colonoscopy almost immediately. Hope things improve soon. n From: BTVC-SCD [mailto:BTVC-SCD ] On Behalf Of riverdale_2 Sent: Monday, February 09, 2009 8:23 PM To: BTVC-SCD Subject: Looking for some help My 16 year old daughter was doing okay on SCD for 2 months. Doctor tapered off the predsnisone and was only on Lialda. She has started to have bloody diarrhea again and mucous. Little pain after eating. She eats meatballs, squash, pumpkin, zucchini, chicken, soup, green beans, kale, dcc mac & cheese and some yougurt. I have stopped the eggs for now. Put her back on intro for 4 days, out of school for 1 week. I cant seem to stop it. She is also due for a colonoscopy on friday after 1 year. Today the blood is a little wrap around not dripping. She has already lost another 8 pounds, now 98 lbs. I will begin making baby food out of the Zuchinni and green beans for her again to see if that helps Any help is appreciated. Guest guest
I suggest contacting Lucy from Lucy's kitchen shop. She's been on the diet for over 19 years and she had UC. Number is toll free . She's in Washington state I believe, so might be a different time zone. She is very helpful. Good luck.
