Guest guest
Essential oil of Eucalyptus - 10 drops diluted in 1 teaspoon of olive oil (or coconut oil or sunflower oil or whatever oil you have in your pantry) and rubbed into the bottom of the feet and covered with a warm pair of socks, before going to bed. Keep the sock on when you walk around -- wouldn't want to get the oil on the carpet or the floor. Guest guest
If it's a mucousy cough, I heat 1 cup water to boiling, add a bunch (the pack you get at the grocery store) of thyme, when it cools slightly, add 1 cup honey and let it steep for 2 hours. It works as good as over the cabinet cough medicine for my daughter and I don't feel bad giving it to her every 2 hours and she likes it. If it's a barking cough, the tubes in your lungs are inflamed and the easiest way to get relief is to stick your head in your freezer for about 2-5 minutes inhaling deeply through your mouth. Or, if it's cold enough where you live, you can do this outside. Again, my daugther would get a cough like this during her first 3 winters and that was the only thing I could do to relieve it. She hated it, but it was calm her cough down enough to get her back to sleep. I will be trying the other remedy of putting the essential oils on our feet the next time we are coughing. Thanks!!!! Hope this helps, Misty Kimble > > I have a nice cough and not sure I know what to take for it that is scd > legal. Guest guest
My son had a dry cough - we used ginger tea (peel and cut up some fresh ginger, put in an infusion spoon with honey) - also boiling water and breathing in the steam. Gargling with salt water helps alleviate a sore throat. Good luck. Guest guest
Although this is not a cough cure, apple cider vinegar (Bragg's) does help clear mucous and congestion. Take 1 Tbsp. twice daily diluted in a glass of water. Add honey if you don't like the taste. If you are wanting a hot drink, simply put it in a cup w/hot water. Keep drinking every day until all signs of mucous/congestion are completely gone.
