A positive update on my WLS denial/appeal proces with Kaiser.

Upon my return from Shasta I had a letter from Kaiser Member Services.

The representative who wrote me informed me she was going to be my

advocate at a Medical Center Review Committee meeting. Her name was

Janet Locke. The meeting was finally held yesterday (June 24) The

Committee reviewed my file and has resubmitted it to SSF (a gal

called " Marina " will be handling it). Hands down, Janet Locke is an

awesome advocate for those who have been denied surgery. She went

over every aspect of my health history and supplied all the necessary

documents, x-rays, MRI etc. that were not originally sent to SSF.

She knows what is required for WLS through Kaiser and knows how to

get things submitted properly.

Unnoffically I am approved. I have to wait to hear from the board

again in SSF, but Janet Locke felt that she had supplied SSF with

everything they could possibly need in order to approve me for

surgery. I should be getting a letter next week from SSF and their

decision. OMG...I think I have had the longest, most drawn out,

WLS approval process yet. 10 months...

That's it for now. I'm unofficially approved.

Have a wonderful weekend. I know I will!!!!!
