I had such an aversion. But I want to point out that fish should not taste fishy. If fish (or shrimp, clams, etc.) tastes fishy, it’s old and/or of less than good quality and you shouldn’t eat it. Even some restaurants don’t seem to “get” that. I’ve send back many of plate of shrimp (especially) and white fish in my career because they tasted fishy. That’s simply not right. That’s not how they’re supposed to taste. If you buy fresh fish and freeze it, don’t leave it in the freezer for too long. It may pick up tastes it shouldn’t have. It’s best, of course, to buy fresh fillets at your grocery store’s seafood deli (if they have one) and use them the same day. And if you try shrimp, or shrimp that’s frozen, I would buy it uncooked. It’s too easy to over-cook already cooked shrimp when you heat it/prepare it; it becomes tough and tastes bad. Shrimp cooks within just a few minutes. Doing it in a frying pan with however much butter you like (and some garlic, if you tolerate garlic), and a splash of dry white wine (if you tolerate that); it makes a great SCD meal (or the main part of a meal). I used to hate all seafood, including the white fishes used in fish and chips. Then I found out the stuff I was having was either not fresh or not being prepared properly, or both. I’m still no fan of the exotic stuff, including most sushi -- but who knew how good white fish and shrimp and clams could be when treated right? n No virus found in this outgoing message.
