Guest guest
Hi I hit my first plateau at about 2-3 months post op. Its your body going into hybernation mode...it thinks you are starving it. It does pass but is very scary when it happens so early post op. I just made sure I was eating only protein, increased my walking and drank my water. After about a month it started melting off again. As per Lean Cuisines: I am 9 months out and cant eat a whole one yet. I try to stay away from packaged meals because since I cant eat a whole one I feel its a waste. Make sure you are only eating about 2 ounces at a time, remembering your protein, getting your excersise in and drinking your water and you should be fine. Guest guest
R you drinking your water and working out??? Also, those pre mixed meals are high in sodium that can make you retain water.

Guest guest
Hi Jeni, My weight loss stalled a bit when I was about 4 weeks out from surgery and I've talked to several other post-ops who experienced similar stalled wieght loss at about 4-6 weeks out. I'm not familiar with the nutritional info on Weight Watchers or Lean Cuisine food . . . so I can't really comment on that. One thing that I do find helpful in keeping me on track nutritionally is to use FitDay to keep a food log. I can keep track of my protein intake and much more. Before using FitDay, I was never able to keep a food diary for more than a few days. I've been using FitDay now for months and it is really easy and gives you lots of info. You can use Fitday.com for free or download it for $20, if memory serves me right. I use the downloaded version. It has a few more features and I don't have to be on-line to use it. I don't mean for this to sound like a commercial . There are probably other similar programs out there - FitDay is just the one with which I'm familiar. I am convinced that, at least for me, recording what I eat and seeing all the nutritional info helps my peace of mind. I recently had my weight loss stall again for a couple of weeks - but knowing that I was doing OK on my protein intake and so on helped me stay on track and feel assured that the weight loss would resume. (It has - I've dropped about 6 lb. so far this month.) So, to answer your question . . . yes, it is normal to have your weight loss stall. Also, as you get further out from surgery, you may not lose as fast as you did at first. 2 pounds a day was fantastic . . . if only it could stay that fast - wouldn't we be happy campers?! Take care, Kay open RNY 12/1/03 lindachaparrita9 wrote: > I had surgery 6 weeks ago and im now starting to eat food, (ie Weight > watchers, or lean cuisine) with very little fat and suger.
