Guest guest
Hi everyone As you know from my post yesterday...I did my first training run. I qualified for the third to the slowest group!! Not too bad for some one who has never liked running. I now love it....it feels so free. To be in control of my body and not my body controlling me. I began today using the run:walk ratios that they gave us according to our fitness level. My ratio is 2:3 or two minutes jogging to three minutes walking for 30-45 minutes. I did it !! I kept it up at a pace of 3.5 miles per hour for 35 minutes. It felt awesome...I was sweaty but not exhausted. I want to get up to an hour but they told us to hold it at no more than 45 minutes for now. I was also chosen pace group leader which I think is more related to the fact that I love to talk than the fact that I can run. LOL Ive also succeeded in losing 4 pounds this week. I was up to 153 and feeling so horrible about myself and you guys all lifted me up and gave me the strength to get back in control. Im still not totally back on track but I managed to weigh in at 149 this morning!! Weekends are usually pretty rough for me so that alone is progress. I know I eat for relaxation etc. When I get home from work it seems as though I eat just to relax not because Im upset...just to kinda wind down. I need to find an alternative...hmmmm maybe on the computer more LOL. Thanks to all of you for your support, your motivation, encouragement and friendship. Thanks especially to my mentors!! PS: Hubby doing ok...his heart is acting up again but for now there was no heart attack this time. He will have to undergo some tests this week because the DR thinks the blockage may be getting worse. There is an area that is blocked but they felt too risky to unblock when he had his last heart attack. So that area may be acting up.
