Kallie -

The good news is that when you wake up tomorrow you get a fresh start! A

clean slate, with nothing on it to remind you of the previous day. So you go,

girl! You can do it. You KNOW how to work this program so I hereby proclaim

Thursday as YOUR day!

Hugs,

Bette

<<<<<<<I am telling myself I can do it, but it is never easy for me.

There

are some on this board who are so good at this. Tory, you for one,

are entering my mind as I type this..you are so into doing it

right..>>>>>>>>>

Try not to think about how hard it is going to be to get back on track.

Just tell yourself that you're going to eat w/in your point range no

matter what. No excuses. No negative thoughts. Just do it. It's only

24 hours and if you have to drill sergeant your way through the day,

then just keep on telling yourself that eating bad is NOT an option.

The minute you get it into your head that you're going to overeat, it is

so damn hard to get out.

Trust me...I bet no one has ever eaten w/in their point range and when

it came time to go to bed thought, " I really wish I had had that super

value meal w/ a double cheeseburger at Burger King. "

Tonight I was really tired. I just wanted to lay down and take a nap at

work and it was only 5pm and I still had 1 1/2 hours to go. =) I

thought " I could miss gym tonight...I did Curves this morning and I'll

just run tomorrow night instead. " I was getting so close to convincing

myself that this was the route to take. Then I remembered something

that was mentioned on this board w/in the past week...so I said to

myself, " You know what...I'm not going to make excuses for myself. I'm

going to go to the gym, even if I hate every second of it. Even if I

feel like a tired wimp the whole time. " And I loved the feeling I got

after I left the gym. It's like it was a big step towards getting

control over my " lazy mind. "

Here's a quote I really like that might be appropriate:

" No one ever works out and regrets it. You never go for a run, and then

when you're finished, wish you would have just stayed home. You never

climb a mountain, get to the top, and say, " I should have just been

content to stay where I was. " =)

Have an awesome Thursday!!!!

bad day

I still just don't get it!! I can do so well for so long and then

bang!! a rotten day! Through my whole 11 days on vacation I did

excellent, a time when I would understand a little slip.

*What's bad about this*, is that tomorrow is gonna be a killer to get

back on track, I know me, I have got to get up and start my morning

off on track *immediately*, and this worries me, I do not want it to

extend into another rotten day..

Kallie,

I hope you have a better day tomorrow!! Before you fall asleep plan what you

will eat and when you will workout. This will help you start the day out right.

Moe, Bette, , how wonderful to read your lines telling me *I

have this brand new morning and I can do it*...

Let me tell you, I had one miserable night. My poor tummy hurt so bad

ALL night. I was awake and looking at the clock every hour, tossing

and turning. I just couldn't get to sleep. So there I am thinking to

myself, why on earth would I do something like that, and then suffer

so badly for it. My stomach just cannot take the abuse anymore. I

can't tell you how miserable I was. And I mean miserable, no sleep at

all..

This morning all that is on my mind is that I do not want to go to

bed tonight and suffer all night long again...I got into some sweets

yesterday, and before I knew it, I had blown the whole day. It wasn't

long before the hurting tummy started..it is still not settled this

morning. So today I need to find foods to help settle it. Maybe some

hot soup for the afternoon, this morning I think I will gag if I try

to fix something....

I deserve this, I want to kick my butt into you know where, for being

so darn weak. I knew what was going to happen and still did it.. BUT

I don't ever remember feeling so bad physcially. I hope this stays

planted in my head..

Thanks for your thoughts, I welcome them.....Kallie

Thanks ladies......Kallie

What a fabulous quote. I think I'm going to post that on my computer

at work to motivate me after a long day.

Kallie: after something like this you've just got to pick yourself up

and MAKE YOURSELF have an on-program day. Do it just for that day,

don't think about any other days. Once you have a good day behind

you, it makes it so much easier IMO. You know that one bad day isn't

going to kill you, it happens to the best of us now and again, but

several bad days in a row can be a real setback. So, remind yourself

how bad you want this...look at old photos, peruse the Internet for

motivation, do whatever must be done, but get through this day.

You can do it, Kallie. I know you can.

Amen ! What a motivating post. Definitely, Kallie. We all have

those days. But who are can become is not dependent on where you're

coming from. What that means to me is that you can completely, overnight

(if you're stubborn enough) change that pattern of one bad day leading

into another. Just because it was that way previously, doesn't mean it's

that way now. Now you have a bad day, you evaluate it, you learn from

it, and you toss it into the dumpster on your way to a good day!

I don't think you were wrong. Even in gas stations they pump gas for the

handicapped (at least in Calif they do) at self-serve prices. He could of said

I will do it for you this time but normally we don't do it, please take that

into account next time. I know they supposedly lower prices because they save

money on baggers but alittle consideration goes a long way. Susieq in Calif

I went through the store and filled the cart, probably at a guess around 250.00

worth. I started putting the items on the belt waiting for the person infront of

me to get done. I nicely went up to the cashier and said I am disabled, my right

Was I wrong at getting so angry? Should have I stayed there and took an hour to

bag the groceries myself?

I would look for the address of Winco's corporate office, get the

name of the president and managers of marketing, community or public

relations, and write a letter to the president with copies to the

others. Check the internet to get their address and phone number.

Then call for the names. I'll bet you get an apology, guarantee it

won't happen again, and maybe a coupon for free food.

I live in an over 55 community and there were no buttons to open

bathroom doors in the clubhouses. I wrote to the developer and they

were installed. You have to go to the top!

Thank you Susieq,

Consideration is a very good word for this, in my heart I know I have to do

something about this for others that might also have this same problem with

there disabilities. Especially when money is so tight for a lot of people with

disabilities. Sandy

I don't blame you one bit for being so upset. Like you, I don't play on my

Sue Me,

Idiots is a more polite word at calling them than I said. I had to pray last

night and ask for forgiveness for my foul mouth. Yes I am going to tell family

and friends of the experience, they do a whole lot of bussiness at Winco, so I

really dont think it will make much of a damper on the company, BUT I know they

will also tell friends and maybe we will all get the word out. Sandy

Thank you Dollie,

You know you are right, they should have a sign at the door or something in bold

letters saying that they dont bag groceries for anyone even disabilities. I

spent nearly a hour and a half in there getting the groceries, just to find out

I wouldnt be helped. My hubby said that I should have said something like I

spent all this time getting the groceries now I am very tired, if I stay and bag

these groceries I might colapse or trip and fall before leaving the store. He

said that might have opened there eyes and might have seen the words law suit

painted on my forehead. I am not a sue happy person at all, but I do fight for

what I feel is right. Sandy

Bad Day

In real estate continuing ed., I have been taught that any public service

and/or building that is open to the public must also be available to the

handicapped. This is covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Some of you attorney people, weren't they required by law to help her with

her groceries. Isn't that why the signs on the self-serve gas pumps say

" Handicap assistance available when two or more employees are present. " I

have noticed that seldom are there two employees available.

Sandy,

I just got off the phone with Steve Goddard, Winco's Executive Vice

President of Retail Operation in Boise, ID. ()

Steve told me that they have made accomodations for disabled

persons, but the disabled person has to provide 24 hours notice so

that they can schedule an extra person. He was talking about blind

people who need assistance with the entire shopping trip.

I explained that you got your groceries yourself, put them on the

counter yourself, and was able to ring them up yourself. You simply

needed help for about 5 minutes to bag them, because you didn't have

the use of both arms. There was no need to bring someone to help

you for just 5 minutes.

He explained that if they bagged for you they'd have to bag for

everyone. I countered that you were in a wheelchair and everyone

could see that. (OK--I really don't know that for certain, but it

was highly likely since you're here at PLS-Friends.) Everyone

would understand why you were getting help, and why able-bodied

people weren't getting help. He had no response.

Instead, he said he'd look into it and call me back.

He sounded like a nice guy and I got the feeling that this will be

settled the way it should be. But we'll see...

Mark,

Thank you so very much, what a great guy you are for doing that.

I am not in a wheel chair, I do use a cane though. When I do go shopping I

always use a shopping cart in a store no matter if I only need one item or more.

When my hubby was at a nursing home after his stroke I had a bad fall, I didnt

really hurt myself except my pride and jarring my noodles some. It happened

because of the heavily waxed floors in the place, it sure woke me up to be more

cautious.

I made an appointment with our lawyer for on the 10th of November, we needed to

get some changes done on our will anyway. Our lawyer is also a judge, so

hopefully he can ansewer some questions for me. I would be very happy if all

that comes out of this was that I helped others with disabilities that didnt

have to go through what I did.

Again thank you Mark, Sandy

He sounded like a nice guy and I got the feeling that this will be

settled the way it should be. But we'll see...

Hi Sandy,

Mike , the General Counsel of Winco called today. He indicated

that it is Winco's policy to help handicapped whenever they need

it. He added that both the clerk that you spoke to and the manager

were both wrong when they said that they couldn't help you.

Both individuals have been reprimanded by Mr. .

everyone has bad days now and then

Bad Day

Hi everyone, well, so much for getting back on track... I had a very bad day and it's not even overwith yet. I still have to eat dinner. I have at least journaled, but am too ashamed to post it here. I have gotten all my water in though, so that's a plus. I will be back on track tomorrow. I hate it when they have meetings at work, all the yummy left overs.....

Gail
