Guest guest
Hello All, Argh, we are going on day three of essentially not eating anything. He is still drinking his milk, and drinking his bottles at night, but doesn't want anything to do with regular, solid food. Aside from some cheese, a few crackers and a few Cheerios, his food intake has been essentially nil. I just had to vent, since you all understand how incredibly stressful, frustrating and nerve-wracking this is! Yes, two year olds go through phases, but darn it, is a 21 lb two year old, and it makes it a little different. We have tried everything of course - eating at the table, in restaurants, in front of a video, feeding him, letting him feed himself, every type of food in the house. If this new phase doesn't blow over soon, I fear we will go nuts! It is all compounded by having a endo who won't try Periactin because it isn't FDA approved as an appetite stimulant for children. I really think it might help Matt, but it seems we are in a holding pattern until more research emerges. We went to a nutritionist two weeks ago - not much help. She had a few suggestions on what to try to get him to eat, but pretty much no ideas on HOW (of course, she had never heard of RSS, and set the appointment off on a good note by looking at Matt's chart and saying, " so, your son has a birth defect? " ) Well, I feel a small bit better. I just had to vent, because my husband and I are just worn out with this, and starting to get pretty snippy with each other, and unless you are there, you really don't understand. I know this too will pass, and he will get back to eating, but it is hard to be patient and calm! ) Thanks for " listening " , Sandy - Mom to - 27 mos - 33 " , 20 lbs 15 oz, on a hunger strike
