Guest guest
Dear Buddy It sounds like you may have an electrolyte imbalance. You are aware of the potassium imbalance but like so many people on this forum you may also have a magnesium imbalance. Have you tried taking magnesium supplements like so many other people in this group. A common cause of AFib is an electrolyte imbalance especially potassium and magnesium. Maybe you need to find a family doctor soon rather than later and have you serum electrolytes checked. Regards Lynda My name is Buddy, I'm a 31 year old small business owner. I have had 2 a-fib attacks. One was about a year ago. " snip " gave me a swift kick in the face. After a few minutes I realized that my heart was beating way too fast and out of rhythm. I sat for a few minutes and tried to calm myself down, thinking it was mental. But it was obvious after a while that I couldn't fix it. Off to the emergency room we went. When I got there they sedated me with the intention of doing electro-cardio-version (is that the correct way to spell that?). Once I was out my heart beat snapped back into the proper beat and slowed to the right speed so they never had to do the shock. Blood tests showed that my potassium levels were really low, but nothing else out of the ordinary. They sent me home and said see a cardiologist. Thanks.
