Guest guest
We tried glutathione with my four year old son and it was a DISASTER. He became an emotional wreck--crying all the time, couldn't cope with anything. He also got a big burning rash on his chin. It acually looked like a burn. After six days, I realized what was going on and we stopped the glutathione. It took over a week to get over the reaction--the rash took even longer. I later learned on the mercury list that Andy Cutler (a mercury expert--wrote a book about mercury) said that while glutathione is very important, some kids with glutathione problems (deficiencies)do well with it, and for some, it is a big problem. I would tread very carefully here. By the way, my younger son, who had been taking a suppliment with glutathione in it (for intestinal permeability), has no problems with it. Guest guest
thanks for the info......before you gave the supplement to your son that had the bad rash........was it testing that indicated a need for it or did you do trial and error guess? If you did have testing that showed he was deficiant in it what was the reading? kimberly in oregon
Guest guest
Hi , We didn't have testing done specifically for glutathione. But the organic acid test from the Great Plains Lab had some lows and highs that might have been indicators for glutathione deficiency. I wish I had a copy of the test results, but they are with our DAN doctor, and I haven't gotten a hold of them yet. I also take my kids to a naturopath, who muscle tests them (kinieseology sp?) for sensitivities and deficiencies. The problem with muscle testing Caleb is that sometimes he doesn't test sensitive to something until after he's had it a few times. Before he started the glutathione, our naturopath said that his body needed it, but after he started taking it, she tested him again and he was very sensitive to it. Which goes back to the problem that Andy Cutler on the mercury list was talking about--there is something going on in these mercury poisoned kids where their glutathione is depleted, but their bodies can't handle taking in any more. I wish I could explain this better. Anyway, our next step is to do a homeopathic detox with Caleb--try to get the metals out that way. Guest guest
I would like to hear how you are going to do metals. I am feeling it makes no sense to test for metals because it doesnt show up so I am thinking to detox some way. Do you know about DMSA? kimberly from oregon
Guest guest
: If you decide to detox there is a great tea out there called Ojibwa tea of life. It is in Karyn Serossi's book but if you would like info let me know. Kim in Washington
