Guest guest
I don't drink alcohol because I have noticed I am a little reactive the next day, even with a glass or two of good red wine...but I noticed that some recipes include Bourbon or Rum....I am surprised...how can this be? Love some of these recipes...they seem so simple and how I basically cook, less the rice flour. And what abour Dried fruit....like prunes...dates, figs...? Thank you...=) Robyn

I don't do much with alcohol myself because it make my feet hot. (Go figure... 40 degrees out, which is COLD for N'Awlins, and everyone else is wrapped in sweaters, and me, I'm barefoot, because of the wine...) Not everyone tolerates all legal items. If there's an ingredient you know you don't tolerate, then omit it. (For instance, I make a Creole pot roast which calls for red wine. I'm ok with pot roast because the alcohol cooks off, but some people might choose to substitute water or a bit of nice broth. >> And what about Dried fruit....like prunes...dates, figs...? << These are legal, so long as nothing illegal is added, but somewhat advanced. The natural sugars are concentrated when the fruit is dried, and it's WAY too easy to eat too much. It's wise to wait until some healing has occurred because of this.
