Hi Mara

My husband had the test done about a month after we had started SCD. He continued to use the yogurt but cut out the acidophilus supplement. His results came back with no detectible levels of acidophilus. Hope that helps.

For people who have taken the genova diagnostics test,I was getting ready to begin collecting samples, when Isuddenly read it is advisable not to take any probiotics for3 days beforehand, including, I suppose, fermented veggies.I feel a little loathe to do this, and I just made some almondyogurt, too.I guess the test is not efficacious otherwise, huh?And it is necessary?Anyone with experience care to comment?Mara

>We just finished the test, and i am so glad that we did. My son has

been on the diet for about 2 months, and we did follow the rules and

stop all yogurt and probiotics. The results showed that he only has

1+ of acidophilus and 1+ of bifidus. If I had used yogurt, his

results would have been higher, but not shown what was really in his

gut. Now I know he needs more acidophilus. I am really elated though,

because there was no trace of bad bacteria and yeast, and he had 2

really rough weeks of die off fatigue when we first started the diet,

so I know it works. The test is definately worth it, and follow the

directions if you want accurate results.
