Guest guest
Also can someone please tell me if they have these days where your talking and right in middle of it forget what you were discussing, what you said, just not able to be following line of discussion????????? JoAnn, Happens to me all the time. My kids tease me all the time about being an old lady, especially now that I'm a grandma! LOL What really stinks is when you're writing and you cannot remember how to spell a word that you have known how to spell since kindergarden! Or when you ask someone a question, they answer, and 2 minutes later you ask the same question because you don't remember if you asked it or not because you don't remember if you got an answer or not. Does that happen to you? And do people get a little impaitent with you when you do these things about a hundred times a day? I mean, it's not like we do it on purpose. It's this monster. It has to be, because I am not on meds at all for this, and this kind of stuff happens to me all the time. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone on this one. I didn't mean to make it a short story but sometimes once I get going I don't know how to stop. I pray you're having some low pain moments. Faith Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! Guest guest
> Joann I dont take any meds other than Neurontin and I can tell you that my thought pattern is scattered for lack of a better word. My attention span is short and my conversations are all over the place. I've usually been someone who could juggle a multitude thoughts and keep be able to prioritize them. LOL Not now...I'm lucky if I remember why I got up to do something as soon as Im up. Notebooks have become my best friend and a good sesne of humor doesnt hurt either. Not to say that Im not embarrased when I cant remember what I was thinking or saying but Ive accepted that its who I am right now and hopefully others will understand. I chalk it up to lack of sleep, alot on my mind and to be honest not enough stimulation in my life. Im used to being at work, constantly being busy meeting the needs of elderly and in that way exercising my mind all day long. I dont know yet how to correct all that but in due time. In the meantime, I keep busy with my duaghter, doing correspondance classes, working on fundraisers etc and that helps. So Joann my friend you are definetely not alone! Guest guest
Also can someone please tell me if they have these days where your talking and right in middle of it forget what you were discussing, what you said Oh, my gosh! I do that a lot, or I'll forget a name that I should know--fortunately haven't done it to Tom or the girls!! Ran into someone in the grocery store parking lot Wed. morning. His wife was my home ec teacher, I babysat for them, and they came to our church for awhile. She's got cancer and not doing well at all. I got ready to ask him about her and couldn't remember her name for a couple minutes--so embarassing! He thought maybe I forgot his name, but I told him no, I was having a brain-dead moment with Wanda's name but had retrieved it. And it seems like words I used to know how to pronounce just don't come out right anymore. Why is it that we forget the things we don't want to but remember the things that would best be forgotten? Guest guest
Must let you know first off Faith that if anyone can start a subject and go from the point wanted to make and stray off in 3 different directions it is me for sure. So we have that one in common. I am sure I have frustrated many friends and family and look and sound like some sort of mentally ill person who is surely not sane enough to be allowed to exist without constant supervision. I really keep thinking of last talk to Nation, sorry , and know I followed that conversation in at least 5 different directions and could not tell you any of them at this point. It is so humiliating, as one want to have a talk with or which ever person speaking with, want to make sense and want to understand what all is going on so going off in all these places and forgetting in mid-sentence what was saying, going to say or what even speaking about is beyond scary. It is just so scary to me. I fear it more than any pain. I do not ever want to be in this place and cannot understand how to make it better, if anyone knows, has advise please let me know. As perhaps I am not alone, at least think Faith would like to know also from what you said Faith. Well enough of that. Know this is allot of speaking on same subject and as far as can tell just does not seem to be answer unless the answer is that I am really not with it and ya'll are leery to say that straight out? Really, if Faith your not on meds and do this, I am on meds and do this, what the HECK, that was a yell meant at situation not a person, anyway what the heck is wrong with our brains...........really do want help with this. Please anyone understand how to make this better? Those of you that are able to keep totally sane in conversations. Take care Faith and hope you find it easier than me to speak and recall what speaking about. s MOmma JoAnn RE: ABOUT CONFUSION/JoAnn Also can someone please tell me if they have these days where your talking and right in middle of it forget what you were discussing, what you said, just not able to be following line of discussion????????? Guest guest
Thanks Donna....I also write in notebooks but heck forget to check them so that does not help as well as should. I try to keep up with each of you by means of notebook and do that only fair...and again do not take time to check through them all to see what most recent thing is happening. So darn stupid to not check them out. I am sorry you are also having this trouble as know it is so hard to deal with and wish no one else had to have it. I pray you find a good answer and you get better and can pass it on to us all. Take care and someday if you are up to it write me and let me know what you have been doing, okay? Would love to catch up with your life these past weeks. Many hugs and please know You surely are in my thoughts and prayers. s Momma JoAnn Re: ABOUT CONFUSION/JoAnn > > > > Joann > I dont take any meds other than Neurontin and I can tell you that my > thought pattern is scattered for lack of a better word.
