Guest guest
Food has that effect on me. Fruits and vegetables especially. They raise my weight, too. LOL! I told the dietician I'm the only person I know who stays slimmest on a diet of pure junk food. Dietician siad my diet isn't balanced enough so I'm probably eating more to make up for the substance I'm not getting if I have salad for lunch. Yours, Dora Austin, Texas villandra@... Have a question for you all... > > I am curious as to what fruit you guys eat. I can handle apples ok, but others that I *love sometime raise my BGs. > > Any sugestions? as I hate to NOT eat it, as it is so good for you and 'that time of year' is closer here in the south;) >
Guest guest
That was the dietician's specific objection to a full glass of orange juice in the morning. She thinks it's too much sugar. Everything else I've read outright recommends a full glass of OJ - albeit at two fruit exchanges - because that is what most people actually drink. Now, most often, OJ is my only fruit of the day. I would think that makes a difference. But you could break it up into smaller servings if you really wanted to. Guest guest
I was told that it was better to eat whole fruit than fruit juice, because you get fiber with the fruit, and that if you MUST have the juice, then squeeze it yourself, don't buy frozen or bottled. Guest guest
I drink Oj on occasion... but it has to have the pulp in it. Or I squeeze my own. I will not drink the concentrate stuff, even if it is in a jug in the store reconstituted... I honestly prefer to eat an orange or a half of an orange... They are good stuff!!! or those clementines... mmm... =) Angelia in OR ----- Original Message ----- From: " Dora " > > Now, most often, OJ is my only fruit of the day. Guest guest
: There's an alternative. Tropicana makes a not reconstituted orange juice. In the carton. It's delicious. They even have a version of it with pulp. And some supermarket chains have their own version of it. I seriously doubt there's much difference in the sugar level. OJ would have to have an awful lot of pulp to be as pulpy as eating an orange! Yours, Dora Austin, Texas villandra@... Guest guest
You know, I forgot to point it out. Full strength tropicana orange juice is too sweet and too acidic for me, so I always dilute it with about 1/4 water. Yours, Dora Austin, Texas villandra@...
