Guest guest
- I haven't heard anything about the Swedish Pain Clinic but it's nice to see you posting. Have you checked them out online? Take care. Barbara
Guest guest
The Big Sis has been referred to the Swedish Pain Clinic in Seattle. Anyone have any comments from personal experience? (aka the Little Sis) While I haven’t had personal experience with the Swedish Pain Clinic, I know of others that have been referred to some of their programs. They are recognized as one of the leaders in research and treatment in the Northwest. Prior to going to the local pain management doctor, my primary care physician asked if I would be open to traveling to Swedish for treatment. They are recognized for treatment of many types of pain, including RSD. I know that they have also been involved in research on medication delivery methods. I think you should be able to locate more information about the Pain Clinic and Swedish from the Internet, or in medical journals. Good Luck, and I hope your Big Sis can find good treatment. I know that they treat various forms of chronic pain. The Furball Formerly Known as Greybeard Mark B

Guest guest
, I do not know anything about the Swedish Pain Clinic, but I can tell you that when I was first diagnosed with RSD my mother wanted to send me to a clinic in Norway! She knows a woman that spent almost 10 years in bed from RSD and could not walk at all. When her husband discoverd this clinic, she went and in 3 months she was not only able to walk, but was off all narcotics!!! I did not want to go, because I just do not have enough information on it. I also have the MS and I do not know what kind of effect there treatment would have on the MS. Take Care and LOL! Dawn L. As an update, her RSD has stayed pretty much under control. She does, however, have some problems with her feet -- primarily one -- and needs treatment from her doctor for that. However, it seems for the doctor to take her seriously, she also has to hook up with the Clinic. Mind you, the current issue with her foot has nothing to do with the RSD. She feels, as do I, that if there is a problem with the foot, deal with that. Pointless to learn to deal with the pain when the underlying problem is NOT RSD related! On another note, she has been doing the Pegasys treatment for Hepatitis C, and just this past week (after three months), has come back undetectable . . . which means the HCV has gone into remission. She must stay on the treatment for another three months to complete the treatment, and she will. I am extremely proud of her for hanging in there. The treatment is similar to chemo in terms of how it trashes your body. Very, very difficult. I stay in the bleachers keeping an eye on all you guys. After my little episode of having my email account broken into, I just don't post anymore. It's a safety/invasion of privacy thing with me. Hugs and kisses to all. If anyone can provide comments re the Swedish Pain Clinic, please share. Thanks in advance for your help. (aka the Little Sis)
