Guest guest
In addition to preparing for wls, I joined this group to hear exactly what you just wrote about!!!! (yeah, yeah....I know it says I'm Randy, but I'm Sue, randy's wife) When Randy and I married 16 years ago, I was 112 and Randy was about 200 pounds respectivly, well I have more than doubled my weight, and Randy has matched me pound for pound. We are both looking into wls, Randy got the go ahead for UCLA, I'm still waiting for whatever stuff I'm waiting for. There is weird fear about him thinking I'll leave once I'm skinny again....That won't happen!!!!! Randy and I are best friends as well as lovers. Silly as it sounds, it's fun to call each other a few times a day to keep in touch and hear him say " Ilove you " and be able to say " I love you " to him. We had friends who both had wls, him first and then her....what a mess!!!! He is an ass to begin with and after his loss he told his wife,my girlfriend of more than thirty years, she was fat and if she didn't lose weight she could leave!!!!!!! She lied to the mental health people and got approved for ALL THE WRONG reasons!!!! So and , thank you for discussing the emotional pitfalls, a guy I work with had wls this past June, his wife had her wls 20 minutes after he came out of surgery, their relationship is much like mine and Randy's....very close. He has lost over 150 pounds so far, he is happy, joyful and feels so healthy! But, even he said that the weird gloomy days came....for both of them! Their support groups were awesome!!!!!! their mutual support for each other was great too. I'm already having those hormone induced DAYS....I love it! (NOT!) OK....my funny story about hormone days!....I'm in class one day.....crampy, whiney, all that....I went out to the vending machine to get a candy bar (a cure for the hormone days!) and two candy bars fell out.... I was so hormone charged I KICKED THE MACHINE!!!!! And yelled, " what the #$%^, I only wanted ONE candy bar! The snack area got real quiet! So now my husband asks if I'm having a two candy bar day or not.....LOL!!!! What do support groups say about these cranky days post op? Thanks for talking about what I really needed to hear!!!!!
