Guest guest
Tonya What pain reliever you take depends on what digestive disorder you're dealing with, (and the types of pain involved to some degree). Tylenol or acetominophen is generally the recommended pain reliever while on SCD as it doesn't aggravate intestinal bleeding as much, if you have an IBD like UC or Crohns. But, you can use Advil or ibuprofen in a moderate way, if your doctor approves. Or other pain relievers, depending on what your doctor approves of in connection with your particular health issues. Just check the ingredients for hidden illegals, particularly the inert or non-active ones. I often have to search lots of brands to find one that has no illegals. I've become allergic to acetominophen, so have to use other pain relievers. I use Advil for some pain, aspirin for others, Lyrica for yet another type of pain. BUT I don't have an IBD, and my doctors are OK with using Advil and/or aspirin, as long as I don't take it too often. Which I don't; actually I take a pain reliever a lot less frequently than my doctors recommend because it slows down my already slow digestive motility. Kim M.
