Guest guest
I'm HOME! Hello everyone, just wanted to let you know that I am home. I was discharged about 10 a.m. this morning. Everything went well, the surgery took an extra hour due to Dr. Baggs removing a lot of scar tissue from my 3 previous surgeries (gall bladder, ovaries removed & hysterectomy). We got some cool pictures of the the scar tissue and my new pouch. I will write more about the experience later when I am not " high " off of vicodin (I love this stuff). I have ZERO compliants about the treatment I received in Richmond Hospital. The more I walked in the hospital, the better I felt (thanks everyone for the advice). I also learned that the incentive spirometer helps eliminate hiccups. I only felt nausious (sp?) once and that went away without meds and using the spirometer. I am now just getting to know my new pouch. It likes warm water (decaf tea with splenda) better than cold water right now. Of course, Ice Chips are the best. I am walking every 2-3 hours outside for about 10-15 minutes- it feels so good to walk. I will start my vitamins hopefully tomorrow. Thanks again everyone for the kind thoughts & wishes. Guest guest
Yay, Sue! I am so glad the surgery went smoothly! I went to the Kaiser support meeting today at SSF, and one of the Doctors suggested warm water in the morning at least 10 minutes before you start eating, because she says it helps relax your pouch. She told me that your pouch can get tense overnight from having no food. (I had mentioned that I have a hard time eating breakfast.) Guest guest
Hey Sue! (Fremont Kaiser Patient) I totally agree with you! I was and am totally jazzed at the amazing treatment. I was totally shocked at how little pain I have experienced. I have figured out why I got sick at home, still can't figure out why I got sick driving home, maybe just motion sickness? As to why I got so sick at home, well, I didn't totally read the discharge instructions - stupid stupid girl - and continued to take my diurectics and cholestrol medication. Vomit city. Anyway, tomorrow will my one week anniversary from surgery and I feel amazing. The only issue I have is fatigue, but I am on the run, going out as much as possible, besides, nothing smells sweeter than fresh outside air!!!! Well, let me correct that, not exactly " run " more like shuffle shuffle shuffle, but I am totally amazed at how good I feel, and I know the fatigue is just a side effect of the surgery itself. Dr. Dennen has called me a couple times to ensure I am feeling well...boy do I feel like a weiner for my pity party the other night! anyway, best of luck to you! I also came home 10 lbs. heavier 213.5, but this am I am 203!!! However, my best news is my blood sugar is running between 80 - 90! Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeee! Keep up your positive attitude and excercise!!! All my best! Debi 243/203/115 wls 8/02/06 Kaiser - Fremont --- calsnoozie wrote: > I'm HOME! Hello everyone, just wanted to let you > know that I am > home. Never for a moment did I regret the surgery, but I was having a bit of a pity party for myself...shame on me. So now I am just working on my future career as love toy to my husband the love god.....hehehehe.... feelin better, look out world I am off my leash and shuffling at the speed of....fuzzy slippers!!!
