Below is a link to iron overload symptoms; nail discoloration is not one of

them. Nail discoloration can possibly indicate other health problems, though,

some of them serious. If I had the nail discoloration you are describing, I

would go to my doctor.

Terry's Nails info

Iron overload info

(Iron overload can cause a gray or bronze skin pigmentation, but not

specifically of the nails.)

low ferritin (15). But I am starting to get these dark pink areas (kind of like

what is described at " terry's nails " on the net) just under the white part of

may nail..and I'm worried that it may be due to high iron. On my baby finger the

dark pink part almost extends halfway down my nail. Am I worrying for nothing

here??!

have a test? I am just worried that I may be overdoing a bit with the iron. On

the net it says that iron overload can cause decreased sex hormones, and my

post-ovulation daily temps have been much lower than they usually are for the

last week or so. Perhaps this is due to lowered progesterone as a result of the

iron? Funny though, that my post-ovulation basal temp has increased by 0.1C!

really have the cash to test this month, I was only going to test next month,

but obviously I will if I have to.

Hi Margery,

Thanks so much for the reply and the links. Yeah, guess it may not be iron

related, but perhaps I should see a doc so they can do some basic liver/kidney

blood tests or something like that.

Thanks again!
