Guest guest
Hi Eileen, I need to schedule it when I come back. They will just squeeze me in whenever it is best for me! I am leaving for Israel this next Friday and I will be back begining of March. So sometime Mid-March I need to do the colonoscopy, followed by a small bowel series and C Diff carrier testing. After I am done with that and recovered I am finally starting some kind of long term Alternative Lyme Coinfection treatment. The IV ozone makes me feel great but my veins cannot hold up to it- and I cannot risk all my veins falling flat. Ozone is a gas and it adheres to the vein walls (sadly as it really makes me feel a lot better) I just met a woman who got a PIC line to be able to do ozone- seems kind of crazy to me. I am unsure how a doctor can -torture- a patient like that. His medical license should of been taken away for doing that to me. Anyway.. I hope this colonoscopy is a breeze and I hope my insides look nice and healthy or at least healthier than some of my previous tests. The last colonoscopy was pre bowel obstruction. They had thought of putting a balloon in my hepatic flexture because I was not feeling better and I was hospitalized on no food thankfully, I escaped a resection. Luckily my GI was available when I had my ER visit with the obstruction and he called into the ER and told them about my history and just be ready to prepare a bed for me. With this the nurse still tried to get me to drink the stuff for the CT which I kept puking and she just kept giving me more- it was so painful. I had so many tears coming out of my eyes- my husband ended up sneaking and pouring all the liquid down the drain. Finally the resident told everyone to leave me alone because obviously nothing will go down. My last set of images showed so much liquid and dilatation in the colon. I also had a bunch of polyp looking things some were labeled psuedo polyps thank goodness.. Not sure what the state is of that but frankly I cannot focus on this. I have got to be doing better- I just wish I had a better baseline. I will just be happy when it's over and I get good biopsy results (deep breath).. The reason for my concern is I just haven't done one in so many years and my colon has been a mess. *Channeling happy thoughts* Sorry for rambling. Obviously my nerves. Guest guest
Hey Jodi, My last scope they used Propofol. It is a sedative, amnesiac. It can be used for conscious sedation with a licensed anesthetist/anesthesiologist. No problems with nausea. I woke up quickly and felt pretty normal. I am doing so much better and I need to cherish that I am not Anemic anymore!! and use that as a sign of progress when I get fear ridden. Guest guest
Jodi, I was really amazed to see my scope pics. The Dr was kind enough to show me the pre and post SCD pics (6/03 then 2/09) and what a difference. No more narrow yellow tissue. No more TI that looks like a weed eater was started up in there. I think he was as happy as I was. His face looked like a kid, with a big toothy grin. I hope yours shows great improvement, too. It was a long road, but I only required 2 years strict SCD, I was not as ill as you, and as you know I admire your courage so much. I remember this scope, somewhat, but in 03 I remembered nothing, and slept for three days after. I think the sleeping was due to the really bad fatigue I had back then. I too had extreme gag reflex when I was so ill, and that is better now. No healthy person could understand how hard it can be, just to eat and hold down food and meds. I hope you have a wonderful trip home. The last I remember you were worried about an ill family member, I hope she is better for your visit. Please take good care of yourself, and have a great visit.
