Guest guest
n, I just got in from Ohio last night, and an hour later, my mother was taken to the emergency room with rectal bleeding. She's in ICU, and has had a unit of blood. My grandmother, her mother, died of complications of diverticulitis which started with rectal bleeding. So I don't have time for a lot of research. Bifidus overgrows. There have been many people with IBD who have a profoundly negative reaction to bifidus, which can easily cause flares. I'm not sure where you get the " Elaine admitted to confusion over probiotics... " from. She was pretty darned clear about what was permitted and what wasn't. Yes, there's been lots of research done... and Elaine saw everyone hop on the bandwagon of the newest, neatest, niftiest probiotic, whatever that probiotic was. She preferred to stay with s. thermophilus, l. bulgaricus, l. acidophilus, sometimes l. casei. Somewhat later, she allowed s. boulardii. What I can tell you is that based on my own personal experience, which I recognize is individual, bifudus makes me very, very ill. Based on Elaine's knowledge amd ,y own experience, bifidus is a Bad Thing for people with IBS and IBD. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
