Well, besides Petey's diapers bringing me back to earth along with the kitten using my bad leg as a scratching post......lol I had sent letters out to all of Iowa's Congressmen, Senators, Governor, Attorney General and State Rep for my area.......like a week ago. Well, today, I got a Phone call from the Attorney General himself!!!!!, and he told me that my letter was powerful enough that he felt "compelled to call instead of sending a form letter" (his words!!), and, that since Social Security is a Federal Program, there isn't anything that his office can do for me, but if I don't get any response from either Iowa Congress members, the Senator's offices or from my State Rep within 2 weeks, to call him personally (gave me his personal office number even!) and he'd start making phone calls for me! Well, then I sent Sami out to get the mail, and there was a letter in the mail from one of the State Senator's, along with a paper for me to sign that gives his office permission to get my information from Social Security! The Senator said that the GOVERNOR called his office and TOLD HIM to read my letter!!!! And, the letter from his office is dated July 26th! my birthday..... Needless to say, I'm floating on air right now, just knowing that I'm finally going to get some help! I practically ran down to Gene's mother's house, where he's at cleaning out the garage to find enough iron and junk to take to a junk yard to get some money.....just to show him the letter! lol So, I at least know, that writing to the Governor, Congress and Senate Members and the State rep of your area when trying to get SSD or SSI DOES WORK!!!! Now, if they can pull a rabbit out of their hats, and figure out how to turn 11 years of working on the family farm into 2 work credits so that I can also qualify for SSD....I'll be the happiest person on Earth!!!! Oh thank God, I am just thrilled for you Tonia, I just am so thrilled. What a blessing and know that others will do the same and they will be blessed also. I would of just about fainted when the Attorney General called. Most likely would of laughed actually and say something dumb thinking it was a joke. Wow, what a great day for your family Tonia.
