Hi Soheila, I am so sorry that you have not gotten the relief that both you and

I expected

from the Minocin by now. The Minocin should have at least gotten the

inflammation under

control. The only thing that I can think of is that there is something else in

your body that is

interfereing with the Mino to do it's work. That could be Celiac, fungal,

viral or other overlapping diseases.

.

I don't beleive that you are suffering from Vit. D. Deficiency. Vit D. is not

a vitamin, but a secosteroid. High doses wll act like Prednisone and give you a

steroidal temporary feelgood boost, but does nothing for the bacteria in your

body that is making you sick. I am into my

second month of M/P and just finally starting to herx very mildly. I think you

need a good solid workup by a doctor more knowledgable in A/P and it's workings.

I hope your school

work isn't the cause of more stress for you as that factor can work against

you getting your

healing process under way. Lynne's history below mine is a complicated one

also. I'm learning that the complete turnaround that I took from deathbed

scenario to being completely functional was an unusual one. I thought everyone

responded beatifully like I did. Didn't realize that other's had more complex

hurdles to climb than I did. I think you have something else in your body or

outside factors that haven't been discovered yet and need to be found and

treated properly. I stopped going to Dr. Whitman because although he said he

was going to monitor me through the M/P, he knew nothing about it and

immediately set out to change the protocol. I was lucky to find a PCP who was

willing and

things are starting to go along as planned. I am happy with my progress and I

wish all of you find the same for a happy holiday and good health in the coming

new year. Love~~~Dolores

Hi Soheila;

Ap does not always work quickly and you really have to play

around with different antibiotics. For the first 3-4 years of SD and AP

consisting only of mino I had virtually no improvement other for a

little less pain and the fact that I was not dead depite the docs

telling me I would not last a year.About year 4 I added clindamycin one

day a week 1200mg devided over the day and mino the other days 200mg.I

had a bit of improvement and like you I just kept on working. In year 5-6

I found out about my celiac and food problem along with a real whacky

vit.D ratio.I dropped all those foods and vitD foods.I was only somewhat

careful of daylight, covered up when I was in the greenhouse but could

not wear No IR glasses as I needed to see bugs.I also dropped the mino

to 100mg every other day. What a blooming difference that made and

remission came in less than a year. Now my doctor rotates different

antibiotics so that I do not develop a tolorance to any oneand I alway

take Diflucan or Sporomax on rotation as well because we all have a

yeast problem eventually.Mine started at the very beginning of SD,long

before antibiotics so that had been festering for years without knowing

it.Patince is the name of the game.I did not have an AP doctor for the

first 6 years, just a very nice family doctor that let me learn and wrote

the prescriptions I wanted.I had to be my own doctor and thank this

board and Roadback for giving me the tools I needed to pretty well fix

myself.I only found my AP doctor after being in remission. Lynne

Hi Lynne

Thank you for the reply. I didn't expect to get wel

overnight but i expected to see some improvements

after being 9 months on AP. In Henry Scamell's book

almost everybody saw improvements within few months.

That's why I am concerned about my situation. Dolores

says maybe something else blocking minocin to work.

Maybe I have another disease which I don't know about

it. I have lost 5 lb very recently. I don't take any

sugars except from fruits, no meat , no diary product,

no anything with gluten , no potatoes. I don't know

how I am supposed to gain weight with such a diet. I

am only skin and bone and hate to look at myself in

the mirror. I am going to do blood test for celiac

disease again. It's strange that I took whole my life

bread without any problem and now the test says I have

celiac disease.

I have difficulty in memorizing my study stuffs.

probabbly have vitamine deficiency. I did blood test

last week. I would know if I have vit D, B12, IRON

deficiency when i see my Dr in Jan.

Anyway I hope you have a happy holiday.

talk to you later

soheila

Hi Soheila,

Did you manage to get Ensure Plus? It's basically a similar formulation

to that used in intravenous feeding, but it comes in various flavours

and it's delicious :) Two or three Ensure Plus a day will certainly

help to maintain your weight.

Chris.

The Celiac may be the thing that is holding you back.It can take

over a year to clear from your body according to my doctor. You are right

about avoiding sugar and starches as they just make more food for the

micoplasma. They like to feed on sugars and starches do turn to sugar

when digested. As Dolores says...you have to starve the little

beggers...I lost a lot of weight also and eat sweet potatoes(my only

sugars) and lots of avocadoes. In the last couple of months I have had a

major physical exam and found out that I have severe osteoporosis due to

the prednisone and methotrexate I took when I was still stupid about

these diseases. This week they added colon diverticulosis to my troubles

so now I can't even eats seeds and nuts because the little hard parts

will get caught up in the intestine.I ate a lot of those to get extra

calories. Now I am really getting worried as my food list is getting

smaller and smaller.Sometimes I wish I was a rabbit and about the only

thing I can eat is porc, chicken and salads.Dolores told me something

about iron the other day but do not remember it at the moment.I am sure

she will see your message and fill you in.If you have a D test make sure

they do it properly, both the d25 and d1,25.You want a ratio of about

1.2.Most test only for d25,it can be low or even normal but the d1,25

could be sky high.Dodo will fill you in on this also I am sure..I am

almost positive that your B is low as we all are, especially b1
