Provigil and fatigue

Hello all,

I barely ever post and I'm like way behind on reading the posts, but I

decided to write because I have a question. Ever since I was DXed

with fibro I have contended with extreme fatigue. I've tried

different sleep aids prescribed by my doc, relaxation before bed, yoga

and other fibro friendly exercise, and other stuff but to no avail. I

still have so much fatigue. I go to sit down for a minute and

literally pass out. I now have a reason to stay awake all day. This

is my first year homeschooling my son, who could not handle a group

environment due to stress induced medical problems. He is really

blossoming under this new environment, learning so much, I dont want

to screw this up by falling asleep all day or worse, having to send

him back to that screwed up school because my fatigue wont allow me

time to tend to him. From day one with him I have tried to stay awake

and alert enough to teach him and take him to see the other children

at the park for co-op. I've tried coffee, b-12and b-complex, centrum

with energy, from fatigued to fantastic, stress vitamins, and lately 5

hour energy and the worst, Hydroxycut hardcore. Do any of you have

this sort of severe fatigue?

I told my rheummy that I tried Hydroxycut and that I am desperate to

stay alert. He told me he will try a few different things with me and

then maybe a sleep study is in order. In my head I said " YES he's

going to help me!!!! " I am so happy with my doc right now because

he's not pushing it off like the other docs who keep telling me its

depression and throwing more antidepressents. Anyway the first thing

we are trying is Provigil. I am wondering, has anyone on the list

tried this drug? I am so excited but at the time I dont want like a

really bad side effect. I read the patient info but I want to know if

it has helped anyone in the group. Thanks and sorry for such a long

post...

Loretta
