Guest guest
Hi, Like I said before, sorry to repeat myself, I take Provigil because of Narcolepsy caused by Sleep Apnea. I take 400mg a day in two doses of 200 mg. It took that much to keep me awake. Good luck to you with it, Marti Dave and Jeanne wrote: I am on Provigil, only 100 mg. per day. I noticed an improvement in my mood, which surprised me. Then I did not notice an improvement when increasing to 200 mg. a day. I haven't noticed an increase in energy very much. And yes, like you, fatigue is my biggest problem. We are all individuals who respond differently to different meds, so YMMV. Hope it works great for you. Guest guest
Hello everyone! Thank you so much for the information regarding provigil. One thing I have gleaned from the posts is that I need a sleep study. I have been taking 100 mg for a couple of days now. I can concentrate better, enough to start a book I've been interested in reading. But I am still a little tired and wonder if I should go up to 200 mg or if this will work at all. I see my rheummy again in six weeks. I will bring up the sleep study again, see what he says... Loretta > > I am on Provigil, only 100 mg. per day. Guest guest
Greetings, Loretta & other Members... First, I apologize to the group for not posting in soooo many months... Between 2 surgeries myself (with complications each) and my husband having surgery too and plus other illnesses....I have just not had the disire to sit down to the computer.... I apologize.....but I finally received a letter from Social Security stating that they are preparing to set a court date for me..... I know it will probably be another 6 moths.....but that's nothing....so far it's been almost 3 years..... Anyway, in reference to Provigil.... I was on it for 2 months & it did not seem to be doing much of anything..... that is trying to " wake your brain up " in the morning..... I suffer from a lot of Short Term Memory Loss, Sleep-Apnea with severe Insomnia, so it takes me almost 2 hours before I am able to function after I wake up.....whatever time that may be.....as I am disabled since July 2003 and a disabled Army Veteran too and not working. By ALL means, have a Sleep Study done!!!! That was one of the first things my doctor did when I was diagnosed with Fibro and Insomnia!! If you do NOT sleep well....you WILL feel BAD every day....worse and worse!!!! Anyway....if Provigil is not working so well......ask your Doc about " Adderall'..... YES.....it was used years ago as a weight loss drug, Amphetamine..... It comes in all types of strengths...... and DOES help in coaxing your body & mind to 'wake up'...... Medical doctors use Adderall now FOR the same purpose as Provigil....and Straterra...for ADD, AADD. If you take it before you eat, yes, it will curb your appetite and help you lose a few pounds.... Or you take it with food and with none of those effects. PLUS, it is very cheap $$$$$, compared to Provigil..... You may e-mail me any time if you have any questions..... I will be happy to give you any information I can that I have learned in the past 3 1/2 years since I was diagnosed with Fibro plus a LONG list of other illnesses... Well, honey, I wish you well....and Happy Holidays!! Luv,
