Guest guest
I've experienced what you are describing about the numbness of the hands when driving and mine would also cramp up, so I had to give up driving. Yes, my feet get cold and numb, but I have diabetes, so I have chalked it up to that and I just wear warm slippers all the time at home and put an extra blanket at the foot of my bed to cover my feet. I don't know what to do about warming up my hands, except to run them under very warm water every once and a while. Love and gentle hugs, Debi/So. Guest guest
I used to be the one who was always hot and sometimes still overheat. But I do have the new problem of my hands and feet freezing. My feet go into charley horse type spasms and my toes get numb a lot in the cold. They do it when I 'm driving, like last night in the snow, but they also do it at home sometimes when I just can't get warm enough. My hands hurt whenever they get cold. I was told that it was because of their being frost bitten when I was a kid, which may still be true, but now I'm not sure. My back can also get chilled to the bone and no amount of clothing or quilts can warm it up. It's like the warmth can't get that deep. I do hate it when it happens in the car and don't have a solution. I can just commiserate with you. Take care, Marti AJ wrote: Okay, here's another question: Does anyone else's fingers and toes get so darn cold that they feel downright frozen? Mine already hurt even when I'm lucky enough to feel warm for a little while, but when they get cold like that, they just hurt like *you know what*! Does anyone know how to make them warmer? They feel like chilled right down to the very BONE!! Also, when I'm driving, my hands and feet tend to go numb. Does this happen to anyone else? Could it be the vibration of the car? I'd really appreciate it if someone knows how to remedy either of these... These problems aren't as bad as most of the other problems, but they are starting to become significantly more annoying more often!! Okay, now I'm gonna go to bed, probably won't be back on until after 6pm (unless I'm actually able to get my rear into gear in the morning, and get ready to leave before 8:15 am... work from 9:15am-5:45pm... ugh...) Guest guest
It's possible you have Raynald's Phenomenon which is common for us fibromites. I have it to, so carry gloves in all my jackets. Sometimes wear them indoors, too. Use 's hand warmers when it really cold. In warm weather I have the oppposite effect. Get very red and very warm hands which are hard to cool off. Especially in a movie theater. Good luck, Debbie J > > Okay, here's another question: Does anyone else's fingers and toes get > so darn cold that they feel downright frozen? Guest guest
Hi , This happens to me all the time, I turn the heat on in my truck and set it for the floor , it gets so hot in there, I have to open one of the passenger windows a couple of inches, but it keeps my feet warm. The only other thing that helps me when this happens, is to take a hot shower or hot bath. I use a lot of hot water in the winter. Hope this helps, Kris **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products. Guest guest
Yep. The wonderful people here tell me it’s Reynaud’s Syndrome, but my old rheumy just shrugged it off. Since my doctor has found my ANA to indicate toward lupus, it may include that. Everyone has always made fun of my blue hands and feet… and nose too. I have to wear gloves to take something out of the freezer or my hands are in so much pain.
