Sorry, I can't. Dr. Stiles just said that they'd changed their criteria and I'd lost enough weight. I was so excited I didn't ask what the new criteria was. You could probably call and find out thnough.sarahbear74@... wrote:

Thank God I had the number with me and called them because after the long drive, I ended up being late. But, fortunately, the doctor was running behind schedule and I had time to catch my breath. She assigned me a surgeon and I see him on 3/1 at which time he will determine whether I can have lap or not (PRAY!) and give me a surgery date. I can't believe it was that easy. She apologized for the delay but I told her that maybe I the time wasn't right back then and now it is. My mind is in a whirl--this could actually happen SOON. actually get a date!> > Have you heard of Dr. Li? I guess he came into the program about the time that I slipped through the cracks so I didn't meet him at orientation. This new criteria appears to be just for SSF patients. Richmond still

requires you to lose 10% on most occasions. My surgeon said 10%

exactly and that is what they do 99 times out of 100. My sister-in-

law is going through SSF and she only has to lose 10 pounds. That's

fabulous for SSF patients but it is really irritating for people from

other Kaiser facilities that are held to the 10% criteria. I just

wish Kaiser would develop criteria that is universal for all of their

facilities. Sure would make it easier on everyone (including them)!

Tina

Pre-Op Richmond

Dr. Baggs

14.5 more to go! (feels like I need to lose 100)
