Guest guest
<< << The program gets a grip on AOL like a Pit Bull! >> Here's one of the utility programs that keeps AOL from dumping you unceremoniously on your ear during your sessions: youcansave.stormerwebdesign.com " Never get disconnected from AOL again! " Cost: $8.50. Dee in MI....NOT an employee OR a customer...I have a MAC for which no such utility has apparently been written yet.
Guest guest
As you have heard me moaning we have just put AOL on our computer and I don't like it, but I am learning to live with it. However for the last couple of days I have been unable to get on the internet. Has anyone else with AOL had this problem and is it just because it is busy? or does it just not like me (bit like YAHOO!) So until I have got all my e-mail to come to AOL I still need OE for my Virgin ones. Trisha SAHM to 3 boys

Guest guest
No its AOL, this is why we changed over YEARS ago - it drove me mad, along with the rubbishy interface which wound me up - but then again I am easily wound up when it comes to ISPs. You remember that I have had a few i my time! You remember that I have had a few i my time! I've had no problems logging on to AOL. Very fast connection IME and hasn't unexplainedly cut off at any point. But I'm using it with Outlook Express and Internet Explorer so that I don't have to use their rubbishy useless email/internet package. I posted before about how to change OE to do this, did you see that email Trisha? Only thing is, OE now doesn't work quite as well as it should, eg it doesn't automatically retrieve messages now when I open OE, even though the options are set to do this, and for some reason I can no longer print out any emails - I know that the purists among you would have it that printing emails entirely defeats the object of having email - but it us very useful to do this to pass stuff from Announce onto those less fortunate than ourselves that do not have access to email. Or who do have it, but don't care to use it... Anyway, I digress. I don't know if the OE problems are related to the fact that I 'm running it through AOL or if it's just coincidence that they started when I installed AOL. Anyway, we're going to investigate BT Internet - 24 hour access service at the same cost - see if that's more adaptable. Oh and we also hate " Connie " , and switched her off at the earliest opportunity!
Guest guest
hmm.. interesting choice of a name... and on that final comment I will say no more as I know there are some people out there who are using AOL successfully and like it (my best email buddy for one).
