It's like blue ice, only intended to be used in either the freezer or the

microwave.

How about Dick's sporting good store? Also check the sporting goods section of Walmart, etc.

Did both, nothingSo think I will buy a stainless steel thermos and heat my food and put it in that, and buy another one for my pineapple side down cake and take that for desert. Also thinking about instead of a salad might take avocado dip and carrots and celery. or maybe a salad. thanks!

I found them in the hunting section at Wal Mart. They also sale a

13x9 pyrex holder that comes with a hot and cold pack. I got it for

Christmas a few years back. Actually, the hot/cold packs are right

next to the thermoses at my wal mart.

Yes, I have one of the Pyrex portables with the large bowl. I make a big

cinnamon-apple-pecan compote at Thanksgiving and Christmas in it, and my

husband uses the insulated case to carry the compote to his office

parties. <g> He's had so many people ask for the recipe that he now

keeps it in an email folder at work so he can just forward it.

I also used the insulated case to put a plate of hot food with a

microwave cover on it to carry to a church function I went to that was

having a meal, which I, of course, could not eat. No one had a problem

with it. I just said, " Food allergies... " which isn't quite

true, but it's better than going into a long-winded dissertation that the

person probably doesn't want to hear, anyway.

Although.... if given a chance, I will spread the word of SCD

everywhere.

Is this bag just insulated, nothing comes with it, correct? All it is is insulated to put things in?On Thu, Feb 5, 2009 at 10:23 AM, Wizop Marilyn L. Alm wrote:

So this is for warm, when you go to a dinner, do you take another bag

with fresh veggies or a sald that doesnt

need to be warm?

Yes. I have an Eddie Bauer insulated bag that I found at Target which is

my " food bag " . I keep it stocked with homemade seasoning mixes,

a cream cheese storage box that holds two sticks of butter, homemade

salad dressing, SCD crackers and/or slices of bread, and there's room to

tuck a salad or dessert or some yogurt into it, along with some blue

ice.

With that, and the portable for hot food, I can go just about anywhere.

And will be... my husband's niece is getting married this Saturday, and

there's a reception afterwards.

Just insulated, yes. Mine's a bit larger than that one you saw on Ebay. I

bought some small blue ice packs which I freeze to put in it -- I have

four. Two to go in the bag when I go out, and two in the freezer. When I

come home and put any leftovers in the fridge, I toss the unchilled blue

ice back in the fridge. The next time, I take the other pair.

Also be sure to look at off-price stores. I was at Ross's today, and

purchased these nice little flasks

for only $10. They also had quite a few insulated bags, ranging from

small to fairly big.

This info may be too late to help, but I found the hot/cold packs at a

baby superstore, near the diaper bags/tote bags.
