Guest guest
Anytime you eat food, you must calculate the foods and point it out. Even if you had eggs twice in a day, you have to point it out. I could have pizza twice in a day, and no matter what the points are, I have to point it out. Did you stay for the Getting Started after the meeting? They usually have that to help people get started and ask questions. I am sure the people on the list can help out as well. Good luck, Cyrella

I'm not sure what you mean about 23 pts. Is that your daily target? If so, that would not be right - daily targets are 20 or 22 or 24 ... depending on your weight. Did you mean 23 pounds? That might be your 10% target if you're current weight is around 230. but i'm trying to figure out about > stuff. ok, so in the > points finder i put in one medium > egg, 70 cal, 4 fat, 0 fiber = 2 pts. so is two eggs 4 pts? > but i put in my > points finder 140 calories, 8 fat, 0 fiber > and that comes out to 3 pts. so i guess i'm confused. > do i figure out one and > just multiply it by the amount i have > or do i put in all together the info? If you look at the points finder, 1 egg comes up to 2 points, but the point finder is only so accurate. It might be 1 1/2 or 1 3/4. When, you do two eggs, it comes up pretty close to the line between the 3 and the 4, so you might say its' 3 1/2 points ( 1 egg = 1 3/4 points X 2). So, it depends how you count points - are you using only whole points? half points? quarter points?, tenths of points? - Round up? Round down? Everyone does this differently. Whatever method you use, it pretty much evens out in the end, so do what your comfortable with. For your eggs, with my WWCalc program, using 1/2 point granularity, 1 egg comes to 1 1/2 points and 2 come to 3.5 points. In general with many things you can double the points in 1 when you have 2. With some things, especially those with more then 2 grams of fibre per serving , you'll want to recalculate from scratch - since you're limited to 4 grams of fiber per serving. Actually, its' good practice to use the total calories, fat & fiber grams and recalculate all the time for the greatest accuracy. the day i had > scrambled eggs again? is that another three > points? also, Yes. People do this differently to. I tend to say that if I have something multiple times per day its' one serving, so I cap the total fiber grams at 4 for that item for the day. Others, consider a seperate meal to be a seperate serving, so they count in the fibre even if it exceeds 4 grams for the day. the fat free cheese i use is no points. but i > put in 90 calories > and it comes out to 1 point. so is > one and two pieces of cheese no points, but three is > one point? So, you're saying 1 slice is 30 calories (that would be 1/2 point)- 2 slices would be 1 points, 3 slices would be 2 points. 90 calories, 0 fat and 0 fiber is 2 points. and since i use > two pieces of cheese for my > eggs, if i used two pieces of cheese for something else, is that points? i hope > this makes sense. > If you had a 0 point item and you ate it many times in a day and counted each time as a seperate serving, I think you'd be undercounting. For example, a 10 calorie (0 fat, 0 fiber) item is 0 points. If I had 10 of them though, that would be 2 points, not 0. As for your cheese, even by the points finder, a 30 calorie slice shows up as 1 point, so you need to count each slice as 1 point or 1/2 point and yes, I would total up how many total slices I had ane recalculate based on the total # of calories, fat & fiber. Guest guest
Hi , are you sure that is a pts goal and not your first 10% weight loss goal? Usually the points are in the booklet they give you and the number on the weigh in chart is your first weight loss goal:) > ok so i went to my first meeting last night and it was > totally awesome. my > first goal is 23 pts. well that's what > they wrote on my card. but i'm trying to figure out about > stuff. ok, so in the > points finder i put in one medium > egg, 70 cal, 4 fat, 0 fiber = 2 pts. so is two eggs 4 pts? > but i put in my > points finder 140 calories, 8 fat, 0 fiber > and that comes out to 3 pts. so i guess i'm confused. > do i figure out one and > just multiply it by the amount i have > or do i put in all together the info? also what if later in > the day i had > scrambled eggs again? is that another three > points? also, the fat free cheese i use is no points. but i > put in 90 calories > and it comes out to 1 point. so is > one and two pieces of cheese no points, but three is > one point? and since i use > two pieces of cheese for my > eggs, if i used two pieces of cheese for something else, is that points? i hope > this makes sense. > > melissa
Guest guest
yeah, i realize now i typed 23 points instead of 23 pounds. i meant pounds. sorry! well i know you've all been on pins and needles wondering what i was going to do and i finally figured it out. first off, i'm not going to use the one i downloaded on my computer (the points finder), i'm going to use the one they gave me at my meeting. that way i can see if its just at one or towards the end of one or whatever. plus whatever section its in is what i'm going by. if something (like the cheese) is just at the beginning of one, i will give it one point. if something is at the end of the three (like the eggs) i will give it a three. it all evens out really. so here's what i had for my first breakfast on ww (which i'm going to eat breakfast everyday. something i don't usually do). two eggs = 3 pts, 1 piece of ff kraft cheese = 1 pt, 1 cup of grapes = 1 point, 1 8oz glass of oj = 2 pts. altogether that came to 7 points and i can have 28 all day. this is wonderful for portion control, something i need desperately in my life. when i was making the eggs, i was like, wow, two eggs is nothing and almost added a third. but after i ate everything i felt satisfied and i realized if i would have added more, it would have been too much and i would have ate it all because i didn't want to waste it. anyway that's my story. lol. thanks for everyone's help. melissa > > ok so i went to my first meeting last night and it was > > totally awesome. my > > first goal is 23 pts. well that's what > > they wrote on my card. but i'm trying to figure out > about > > stuff. ok, so in the > > points finder i put in one medium > > egg, 70 cal, 4 fat, 0 fiber = 2 pts. so is two eggs > 4 pts? > > but i put in my > > points finder 140 calories, 8 fat, 0 fiber > > and that comes out to 3 pts. so i guess i'm confused. > > do i figure out one and > > just multiply it by the amount i have > > or do i put in all together the info? also what if > later in > > the day i had > > scrambled eggs again? is that another three > > points? also, the fat free cheese i use is no > points. but i > > put in 90 calories > > and it comes out to 1 point. so is > > one and two pieces of cheese no points, but three is > > one point? and since i use > > two pieces of cheese for my > > eggs, if i used two pieces of cheese for something > else, is that points? i hope > > this makes sense. > > > > melissa
