Guest guest
I think these guys know what needs doing. They do it often. And they sometimes know that you can do things you would never believe you can get through. They aren't uncaring, and they don't want you unprepared -- at least mine have been that way. But they know when something is truly scary (as in life-threatening) and when it's something you can make it through. I've been in a room with a doc who said, not to me, " Have all your lower molars extracted and a feeding tube inserted surgically, and then we'll begin radiation next week. " No way even a VIP patient could manage all that, that quick. But he knew what had to be done, and that it did indeed have to be done, so he was almost off-hand about it. It was offensive, but he was right. They can, however, be astounding in the things they expect their patients to accept, apparently casually.
