Guest guest
Don't worry You are not being a pain. As far as I'm concerned the only stupid question is an unasked question so ask all you want and I will help as much as I can. I feel like if I can do it anyone can, but I know that's not always the case. The first few times I went I could only make it around once, not 3 times. I don't know if you have picked up on it, but the number of times you go around depends on the number of machines the Curves you belong to has and that depends on the number of members they have. We are missing 3 machines and the "new recovery pads"(You will know what I'm talking about when you go) are like stair steppers from what I have heard . What we have are just little platforms to walk in place. Good Luck. I hope you like it if you decide too join. Anita -- Re: Curves questions I found out they will give me half off the sign-up fee, if I sign up tomorrow night at the evaluation. Half price is $74. If I don't sign up tomorrow night, then I have to pay the full price if I decide to sign up later. I'm pretty sure I'll sign up tomorrow night. No need to pay extra money for nothing. It just makes me nervous. I'm afraid I'll hate it or won't be able to do it, or something. But it seems to be exactly what I need. Sorry to be such a pain! I guess I'm just excited and worried all at the same time. Thanks so much! > > > > > > > > > > For those of you who attend Curves: > > > > > > > > > > I was told over the phone that most members pay $43 a month. > > What > > > > > determines how much you pay? > > > > > > > > > > They said you have to make an appointment and come in for an > > > > > evaluation. Guest guest
I'm pretty sure I'll join, but we'll see. If there are some machines that I can't do, would I just march in place until time for the next machine? Ok. At least I know I will only have to what I can until I get used to it and build up some endurance. > > > > > > > > > > > > For those of you who attend Curves: > > > > > > > > > > > > I was told over the phone that most members pay $43 a month. > > > What > > > > > > determines how much you pay? > > > > > > > > > > > > They said you have to make an appointment and come in for an > > > > > > evaluation. Guest guest
What they have me do at the machines that hurt my legs right now is toe raises(calf raises) I'm not sure what they are actually called, but you raise up on your toes. It works the calf muscles. I think they have something else for you to do for your upper body, but every one might be different so I don't know for sure. Guest guest
Hey Donna! I didn't realize that you go to Curves. Now I have 3 recommendations from people who like it (well 4--my cousin also loves it). I'm excited. Can't wait until my appointment tonight! Thanks! > > > > , > > > > I pay $29 per month. Guest guest
I DIDN'T JOIN CURVES!!!! It was at least 1 1/2 miles from the train station to Curves--not close like I was expecting. I kept getting lost at the end you go up this LONG hill. I FINALLY got there. It was a different woman than the one I had talked to on the phone. She agreed that it wasn't a good situation for me. She didn't even try to get me to sign up. No way I would do that in December in the dark. Then afterward I'd have to find my way back to the train station, catch the bus and then walk 1/2 mile home. All after working out Thank God I didn't have to find my way home. I called and my brother picked me up. I'd like to slap the woman who told me " oh it's a nice walk blah, blah blah " . She sounded like a cheer leader. Then the woman last night told me it would be faster for me to walk home than to walk back to the train station. My brother said " yeah if you can walk 2 1/2 miles that fast " . He said they must have thought I was an olympic athlete or something I was about to try to walk home. Stupid me. I didn't know the difference. I have no sense of direction and don't know my way around So....... that's my long rambling story. I'm sorry I bugged everyone about it. I really thought I was going to join last night, but it was a disaster. I think Curves just isn't meant for me. > , > > That is great that Curves will give you 1/2 off if you sign up at your > meeting. Hope you love it and sign up if it is something you want to do!
