Guest guest
Hello all! I am new here. Just wanted to say hello and say that I think it's great to have this forum for us to share common struggles, successes, pains, etc. I just spent the Thanksgiving weekend in the hospital due to a rejection episode. I am currently 9 years out of transplant and this is the first (and hopefully the last!) episode. Thank the Lord! Just wanted to get some feedback from any of you who have gone through this sort of thing, treatments that were done, etc. I am in the Tucson AZ area. Keep your head up everyone! Guest guest
Hi , A very warm welcome to you! I am just so sorry you spent the holiday weekend in the hospital. Did they get the rejection under control? May I inquire if your kidney was a cadaveric or living donor kidney? I just went for a transplant evaluation today with a possible donor and am pre-transplant so I am afraid I can't answer your questions about a rejection episode, but Marty if he is still reading the board lost a kidney so he may be able to comment. I hope you are stable now. Welcome again! > > Hello all! I am new here. Guest guest
, I just wanted to say welcome to the group, I'm glad you found us! Your father is a wonderful person for giving you a second lease on life. I hope things settle down for you in the rejection department. It sounds as though they have things in check now. I'm not at the point of needing a transplant so I can't comment on the rejection experience. I'll have to agree with you regarding the state of health insurance in America. I have had more than my share of fights with my company regarding how my neph wants to dose me with certain drugs. My neph and I have had to work out ways to write my script so that the insurance company will give me the amount of pills I need for the month. Most of my scripts are written with the dose wrong on the bottle because the insurance will only cover once a day dosing on some drugs (for those my neph writes the script for twice the mg and I split the pill so I take half twice a day) or the insurance will only cover " x " number of pills per month on others...I have a separate sheet of paper that has the proper doses on it for the day.
