Sad but happy it's over,Thanksgiving that is. My mom prepares the meal out of a sense of duty as it seems.Like there is no joy in doing it at all and don't dare get in her way. I try to realize her intentions are good but the grouchiness that goes w/it makes it less than pleasurable to say the least. My sister in Iowa has stopped coming at Holidays as not to leave depressed. When I think of Holidays I think of everyone gathering around my great great grandparents dinning table and enjoying a meal w/pleasant conversation, not the case w/my family where everyone prepares their plate and heads to different parts of the house. One Christmass my sister suggested we all sit at the table but mom said no I'm going to eat w/toot (toot=my daughter). I talked to my sister about it and said to her don't you remember when we used to gather around the dinning table at Holidays and she replied yes I miss those days. I explained to my sister the dynamics of the situationin amanner she could understand easley. I had to stop being apart of the family meal process years ago due to the emotional upheaval that I found unbearable. We aren't a family any longer, we are just relatives gathered at the same time and place for a symbolic preverication. Can anyone relate to this predicament???If I had my way come Christmass I would get a motel room for 2 days and just be alone in peace, that's truelly SAD ! What are the chances of us every being a family again? Sorry to be such a drag but I had to get it off my chest so to speak.GOD Bless ! ! ! . . . .................................................................................\ ...............................P.S. I hope the rest of you a had a TRUELLY HAPPY Thanksgiving ! ! ! __________________________________________________________Your smile counts. The more smiles you share, the more we donate.
