Guest guest
Naffy, I recommend googling to find one without ascorbic acid. I know they make them because I have used them in the past. Once you find a brand, you can have your hubby call local health stores to find one that carries it. Or, he can call them in your area and just ask if they carry any without ascorbic acid and preferably in powder or liquid form (absorbed better). The one I have on hand now is Twinlab Super C. http://www.vitacost.com/Twinlab-Super-C-Powder I don't know if this one has ascorbic acid or not, the label doesn't say. It has Rose hips, Acerola, bioflavonoids, Rutin, hesperidin in addtion to the C. For some reason I cannot remember the brand I took that doesn't have it, but I know it was a wonderful brand that my local health food carried and I took it daily for years until I got better. For awhile I was allergic to ascorbic acid so only could take those without. Since I am no longer allergic, I have no problems any more taking a variety of ones. I took 15 grams which is a HUGE amount, but it what my body needed. Yes, I got the runs, but that is what I wanted...get it all out. You could start with 2-3 grams then in a few hours add that much in again and keep going. I took it all at once which probably wasn't the best way but I wasn't thinking clearly at the time. For the itch, have your hubby go out and buy " magnetic clay " or " Aztec clay " (same thing) at a health store and some apple cider vinegar. There is a paste that you make with the vinegar and the clay that you can test on a small hive patch. If the vinegar is too strong (it will sting at first but should go down shortly) just use water. Then, put the clay all over your body and let it dry. You can then put loose clothing over. The clay will help reduce the itching, and will cover the spot so that is you are tempted to scratch, you will just have clay there as a barrier. I did this and only had one day of really bad itching...ironically it was about the 3rd or 4th day of my breakout. By the next day the itch had lessened and by 2 days could barely feel it even though the hives stayed a week to 10 days. Cheri Re: Allergic Reactions Cheri I forgot....I wanted to do the Vit C flush and had my hubbie help me search the cabinets last night for one that wasn't ascorbic acid. ALL of the ones in our house are ascorbic acid so I didn't dare. What are the other kinds of Vit C I can take, and how much and for how long? To bowel tolerance? How will I know if I have the eternal runs from the magnesium laxative from last night? Sorry to bother with so manyh questions....and thanks, Naffy . Guest guest
The Vitamin C is an antihistamine so it is actually " fighting the hives " so to speak. If you already have diarrhea from the magnesium, then use a lower dosage of the C. I don't know why I became no longer allergic. My theory all allergies are toxin related and the less toxic you are, the less allergens and vice versa. I never had allergies as a child...they came slowly as the years and my toxicity level increased, especially as my liver got congested. So, doing the cleanses and taking things to help rid my body of toxins like C flushes, parasite cleanses, herbs, organic foods, etc. I am sure helped. I still have a lot of allergy issues and such, but nothing nearly as bad as a few years ago. I still have a long way to go though. When I can start wearing metal earrings again I will consider that a huge improvement. Cheri -----Original Message----- Thank you chere...will do some surfing now to find a good vit c. Just a question: is the vit C actually fighting the hives, or are we taking it to get diahrea, and thus wipe the toxins out. Becuase if it is to just get the diarhea...I ALREADY HAVE IT. That magnesium did a number on me and I really beleive I am empty now. You said you are no longer allergic? How did that happen?> Thanks again for all of your knowledge...I'm a bit better today...but still itching.> > Naffy > . > .
Guest guest
That's because the people writing up that on the Google search sites aren't chemists. Wikipedia for one has notoriously bad information, probably because it is written and edited by anyone without real fact checking. Here looks like a good source for vitamin c that is NOT ascorbic acid. http://www.synergy-co.com/pages/pure-radiance.html However, if you have no allergic reactions to ascorbic acid, you can certainly take it. I guess I assumed you were allergic without actually verifying. Cheri Re: Naffy...Allergic Reactions Hmmm my google search says that ascorbic acid y just another name for vitamin C. .
