Guest guest
Kim I have had to do a lot of reading on the biliary tree (that's the gallbladder, common bile duct, Sphincter of Oddi and often includes the liver and pancreas and pancreatic duct) since developing Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction five years ago. There's a lot of helpful information out there, in books and on the web. One of the best websites I've come across is this one: http://hopkins-gi.nts.jhu.edu/pages/latin/templates/ Click on Digestive Disease Library, then click on biliary tract, then click on any of the disorders. There is basic information, not just on the disorder itself, and good illustrations with each one. Here's another website with some good basic information on the pancreas and biliary tree. And you can search the site for more information on other organs: http://www.ddc.musc.edu/public/organs/pancreas.cfm Just google biliary tree or hepatology to focus on the liver and bile ducts. Most of the sites get into fat digestion, since that's an important function of the liver and gallbladder, but you can also search separately for that issue. Kim M. SCD 5 years Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction 5+ years, plus other upper GI malfunctions neurological/neuromuscular deterioration 2+ years >>>>>>>>>> I do not have a gall bladder either, and do have fatty D occasionally, and my ND tells me that my liver is stressed (which contributes to it) but I do not understand the relationship between all of these organs. Can someone please explain or direct me to a reputable web link to help me understand the relationship between liver, gall bladder, pancreas, bile salt necessity, fat consumption/undigested fats?I currently take a natural bile salt product when I eat. Kind TIA,Kim in NJ, SBS due to bowel resection, no gall bladder2 sons, almost 4, ADHD, SPD, leaky gut, bacterial overgrowth All SCD Jan 1/
