Guest guest
SAME BOAT!! I'm to the point of being scared now! I am 124. That's 7 pounds in a week. Jodi, has been more than helpful coaching/encouraging me along! I am in a great deal of debt to her! But, this is ridiculous. My wife and I are scared. I've bumped up to around 3000/calories a day, a lot of protein, and almost zero physical activity. Eating bananas, avocado, cooking w/ coconut oil, etc.... Guest guest
Hey Cris, You and your wife are going to have to reach with-in and have some faith in The SCD. Hard to say but gaining calm is very important to us as stress is not good for our conditions. People gain weight eventually after healing takes place. Some people are very emaciated. It is very scary- I understand. Eileen was very underweight and terrified when she first began she can tell you more about it. Search the archives- you can read a lot about anxiety and weight etc.. Have you tried adding Ghee (clarified butter) into your diet? That is something you can do from the get go. Good source of easy to digest fat. When healing takes place you'll absorb the food and fats much much better. Like homemade Pecan Butter, Avocado, Coconut oil.. All sorts of yummy stuff. Another good thing is maybe you can add some marrow bones to your chicken soup? That adds some good fat as well. Hang in there.. You're getting through the rough parts.. Soon you'll start seeing fruits of your labor and you'll be doing the SCD dance.. Takes time. Jodi > > SAME BOAT!! > > I'm to the point of being scared now! I am 124. That's 7 pounds in a > week. Guest guest
That sounds like me! I'm now up to about 1200-1400 a day (I was a lot worse the first month of the diet). But weirdly, I don't think I've lost any weight. I've never been a big eater though, so maybe my body is accustomed to living on a small amount of food. I still could stand to gain a good 5 pounds though. Holly Crohn's SCD 12/01/08 > > --- > > Hi Eileen, > I read in a past post where you said you try to aim for 3000 > calories a day.
