The answer is yes, you be sensitive to your yogurt. What are you

using for a starter? Goat milk yogurt is an option to try.

Hi Barbara,

Are you fermenting the homemade yogurt 24 hours to get rid of all the

lactose? You could try homemade goat yogurt instead. With any yogurt

or probiotic you may need to start more slowly, like one tablespoon of

yogurt per day at the beginning. Also, strict SCD would not allow the

Jarrow probiotics if they contain bifidus.

yogurt, I am no longer " D " free. When I eat swiss or emmenthaler

cheese I seem to be OK. I seem to only be eating yogurt every 3 or 4

days and then I suddenly notice the difference. My doctor has asked

that I take Jarrow probiotics everyday, but somehow I end up only

doing that every couple of days too. I don't really think I'm

desperately short on the good bacteria but when I have an episode I

take the probiotics again.

It seems to me that if you tolerate cheese then the casein is probably

not the problem. According to the website

http://www.gapsdiet.com/The_Diet.html, " While this diet is very close

to the SCD, there are a few changes. One important difference is that

the GAPS diet removes casein in addition to lactose in the beginning

stages of the diet. "
